Chapter 59 It Wasn’t Like She Hadn’t Faced Worse
“Lisa, are you trying to get yourself killed?!” Mario’s eyes were sharp with anger, a dangerous gleam flashing in them. “You really think you can just hit me now? You think just because the Olsens need your help, you can act however you want without any consequences?!”
“You’re the one who pushed me to this point!” Lisa’s teeth were clenched as she struggled to hold back the tears threatening to spill. “I haven’t done anything to hurt anyone! I picked this spot because I didn’t want anyone recognizing me, I even wore a mask–what more do you want from me?!”
“You should never have done something so foolish in the first place!” Mario’s face was thundercloud dark with fury. “Look around you, Lisa. Do you see all those wealthy girls? Do any of them debase themselves like this? You’re Ms. Olsen–you represent our family’s reputation! Why can’t you understand that?”
He glared at her, his voice dripping with disdain. “I thought maybe Wanda was just naïve–that because you grew up in the countryside, no one ever taught you proper behavior… So I came here to teach you. But you’re still so stubborn, still refusing to listen… Maybe we should never have brought you back to the Olsens after all.”
Lisa laughed bitterly, her eyes glimmering with unshed tears. “Yeah, you never should have brought me back.”
Her voice shook as she continued, “So just let me go back. I don’t belong with your high–and–mighty Olsens. Let me go, and you’ll be free of me. You won’t have to worry every day about me embarrassing the Olsens again.”
“Don’t even think about it!” Mario’s grip tightened as hanked her hair, his voice now cold and menacing. “Get in the car,
now.”
Mona stepped forward, hands outstretched in a desperate attempt to intervene. “Hey! You psycho, let her go! She doesn’t want to go with you!”
Mario spun around, his glare icy enough to freeze anyone in their tracks.
The sharp, violent look in his eyes made Mona step back in terror.
“You want to die too?” Mario’s voice was a razor–thin warning, the malice clear in his words. “If you’re not careful, I’ll have no problem dealing with you as well.”
Lisa’s heart raced, knowing Mario well enough to understand that someone like him, born and raised in the elite world, didn’t care at all about the lives of ordinary people. She wouldn’t dare imagine what he might do to Mona in his rage.
“Mona, let go of me,” Lisa urged, her voice trembling. “I’m fine. Go home. Don’t worry about me. He’s my brother; we share the same mother. He won’t hurt me.”
“But look at what’s happening right now call the police?”
Lisa forced a weak smile, shaking her head.
Call the police? It wouldn’t help.
“Mona’s voice quivered, full of concern. “Lisa, are you sure you don’t want me to
Mario is my brother. When a brother punishes his sister, even the police are powerless. And let’s not forget, Mario is the CEO of Olsen Enterprise. Who would dare tell him what to do?
“I’m fine, Mona,” Lisa whispered softly. “Just let go.”
In her previous life, Tiffany had broken her leg, and from that moment on, she could never dance on stage again. Despite the Olsens‘ fury, they didn’t kill her.
They just chained her up like an animal, forced to fight for scraps of food with the dogs, stripped of all dignity. It wasn’t like she hadn’t faced worse before.
Lisa swallowed hard, forcing a smile at Mona, hoping it would case her worries. But it only made her look like she was on the edge of breaking down.
Mario, growing impatient, yanked Lisa’s hair again. She stumbled, barely managing to stay on her feet.

Even the other vendors, who had scrambled to snatch the dropped items, couldn’t bear to watch anymore. One muttered under his breath, “This doesn’t look like a regular family dispute. Should we call the cops?”
“I think this has gone too far… another whispered.
But the moment their eyes met the cold, unflinching gaze of Mario’s bodyguards, they quickly fell silent.
They were just small–time vendors. They didn’t want to get involved with powerful figures like Mario.
Mario dragged Lisa to the car, pausing briefly to ask, “Has Tiffany come back yet?”
“I’ll check right now,” the driver replied quickly, clearly afraid of upsetting Mario.
Mario let go of Lisa, his tone sharp and frigid. “Get in.”
Lisa clenched her teeth, holding back a wave of emotions.
She knew resisting would only make things worse. It was better to remain submissive, to wait for Mario’s anger to subside, and hope the situation would calm down.
She said nothing, about to step into the car when a voice called out brightly, “Mr. Mario! Fancy running into you here!”
At the sound of the voice, Mario’s expression changed, his anger melting away in an instant. He turned with a polite, charming smile. “Mr. Reagen.”
“Hey, come on, just call me Steven, Steven said. He was dressed in athletic wear, looking like a student from the nearby Kensington University. “Are you picking up a kid from school?”
“No, just some business, Mario glanced at the car parked nearby, noticing the sleek luxury vehicle. “Is Mr. Hale here too?” “Yeah, he’s here for a pickup,” Steven replied.
Mario couldn’t recall which of the Hales was still in middle school, but he didn’t press the matter. Instead, he smiled politely, “What a coincidence. But I have a few things to take care of today. Let’s catch up some other time…”
