His new album had been stuck in limbo for ages. His fans were already in an uproar with no decent explanation to offer. Meanwhile, Riley had dropped two new songs in quick succession, each better than the last, gaining even more followers in the process.
The two of them had always been compared to each other. Julius, as the senior artist with a larger fanbase, had always held the upper hand. But now…
Julius opened his music app, and the first thing on the screen was Riley’s new song. His temples throbbed with frustration. Without a second thought, he hurled his phone across the room, watching as it smashed against the wall and shattered into pieces.
Tiffany stood at the doorway, waiting until he calmed down a little before stepping inside. “Julius,” she called.

“Was this the first time Lisa gave me a song?”
The question stemmed from the eerie similarity between Lisa’s latest song and the ones Tiffany had given him before. If he asked any industry professionals, they’d likely say without hesitation that they were all written by the same person.
Julius, why would you ask that?” Tiffany looked genuinely confused. “Of course, it’s the first time. If there had been anything like this before, I would’ve told you.”
“I just this song sounds so much like the ones you gave me before.” Julius explained quickly, “Tiffany, don’t get me wrong. 1 didn’t mean anything by it, I just-
Tiffany’s eyes widened, and before he could finish, tears welled up and spilled over. She stared at him in disbelief. Julius, are you assuming that I had stolen Lisa’s credit?”
“No, no, no! That’s not what I meant, Tiffany, don’t cry-“Julius panicked. “I was just asking, that’s all
“But the fact that you asked means you already doubt me! Tiffany sobbed and wiped her tears away. “Fine! Let’s go right now and clear things up. Let’s see if I’m really the kind of shameless person you think I am!”

However, Tiffany remained firm. “Since you’ve already had this thought, we should talk to Lisa directly. Otherwise, this doubt will only fester and grow”
Julius sighed. “I was overthinking. How could someone like Lisa who couldn’t even pass a basic language test possibly write such good lyrics? I’m sorry, okay?”
“Then you’d better not doubt me again, Tiffany mumbled, still feeling wronged. “I was really hurt.”
“Alright, alright, I promise,” Julius patted her shoulder. “I’m sorry. Tiffany. I swear, for the rest of my life, I’ll never doubt you
Isa limped away from Olsen Mansion
She had no idea where she was going–she just kept walking aimlessly
Because of the heavy rain, the streets were empty. The usual city noise had faded, replaced by a rare and strange kind ofquiet

That hit from Julius hadn’t been just for show–though there was no bleeding, she could tell something inside had been seriously hurt. Now, with her clothes soaked through and the cold wind cutting against her skin, she was trembling uncontrollably,
She knew she must look miserable, but going back to Olsen Mansion was a death sentence. And, there was no one she could turn to for help
Lifting her gaze, Lisa spotted a small pavilion up ahead and thought about sheltering there. She had only taken a few steps when a blaring horn suddenly screamed through the silence. It was sharp enough to nearly burst her eardrums
Lisa turned around in shock to see a sleek black car screeching to a halt–stopping barely 2 feet in front of her. If it had been. just a little closer, she would’ve been sent flying
The driver rolled down the window and stuck his head out. “What the hell is wrong with you? Crossing the street out of nowhere–didn’t you hear the horn?”
Lisa was stunned.
She really hadn’t heard it.
“I’m sorry,” she croaked. “I’ll move out of the way now.”
She tried to take a step forward, but the moment she lifted her foot, her vision blurred. Then, she collapsed to the ground,
unconscious.
The driver was dumbfounded.
“Sh–she… Is she faking it? I swear I didn’t hit her!”
He looked toward the backseat in a panic. “Boss, what do we do? Should we just drive off?”
The young man in the backseat leaned lazily against the seat wi
one earbud still in, speaking to someone on the phone. At the sound of the driver’s question, he raised his head, revealing a face with striking features. He had deep eyes, a sharp nose, and pale lips
It was the kind of face women couldn’t help staring at–but his cold, powerful presence made it nearly impossible to look at him directly.
“Get her in the car he ordered.
The driver hesitated, trying to interpret his boss’s tone. “Uh… are we going to bury her in the middle of nowhere?”
The man gave him a cold look. “Take her to the hospital”
Lisa had no idea how long she slept. When she finally woke up, she heard a voice speaking nearby, “She fell unconscious due to a high fever. There was a serious bruise on her back, but fortunately, no bones were broken. There are multiple abrasions all over her body, but what’s really worrying is the severe malnutrition!
“Seriously? In this day and age, there’s still someone suffering from malnutrition? Did you pick her up from a slum?”
Lisa’s eyelashes fluttered and she slowly opened her eyes. The first thing she saw was a man in a white coat, talking non–stop. What she needs most right now is proper nutrition. You can’t let her starve, man. No wonder people call you a sociopath. Just admit it–did you torture her?”
A cold voice responded indifferently, “And what if I did? What will you do?”
The doctor choked, then awkwardly muttered, “W–Well, not like I can do anything about it. Just pretend I didn’t say anything Oh, hey, you’re awake!”
He turned around in surprise. “How do you feel? Any discomfort? Do you need water?*
Lisa turned her head slightly and caught sight of a tall figure rising to his feet. Her vision was still a little blurry, and she couldn’t see his face clearly. All she saw was his back as he left the room. She was still staring as his silhouette disappeared from view

The doctor then poured her a glass of water. “Drink this first.”
Lisa took a sip to soothe her dry threat. Then, the doctor asked, “Miss, have you been a victim of domestic violence?”
