In the shadowy corner of the hall, Cindy couldn’t help but mutter under her breath, “This punk’s got guts.
Logan spoke up as well, issuing a warning. “Mr. Eaton, I think he’s a martial artist!”
The Kanes‘ very survival now rested in Mark’s hands, so Logan had to make sure Mark understood the gravity of the situation.
“What?” Mark’s expression shifted dramatically, and he instinctively stepped back. While he might be a playboy, he was still a member of the prominent Eaton family, and he knew what martial artists were capable of.
After retreating. Mark steadied himself, his demeanor becoming more serious.

“A martial artist?” Mark stared at Ryan, his eyes filled with hesitation. If the other party was a martial artist, was it worth getting involved to save Joel?
“Mr. Eaton, please save me!” Joel continued to plead desperately.
In the end, Mark made his decision–he would save Joel.
Not saving him would damage his reputation, and Joel had been a reliable sidekick. Losing him. would throw things off for Mark. Most importantly, if word got out that he abandoned Joel, his other followers would start deserting him too.
Taking a deep breath, Mark adopted a slightly deferential tone and said, “Bro, I’m Mark, the third son of the Eaton family in Aetheria. Could you do me a favor and let this matter slide today? Please?”
Ryan finally spoke, his gaze sweeping over Mark. “And if I refuse?”
Ryan’s words were calm but carried an unmistakable weight. He hadn’t even heard of the Eatons. During his travels to Aetheria, he had treated the heads and key members of several prominent families. But the Eatons? They weren’t even qualified to meet him.
“You…” Mark’s face turned crimson.
For years, people across Actheria and even in other powerful cities like Demonia had shown him. respect. To encounter someone so blatantly dismissive was a rare and infuriating experience.
Mark’s temper flared, “Bro, even if you’re a martial artist, you’re still just one man. The world is big, and martial artists aren’t invincible. The Eatons have martial artists, too–more than 20 of them!”
Mark’s tone shifted, becoming slightly threatening. “If you give me some face today, we can be friends. That’ll benefit both of us. But if you don’t… I promise, one phone call is all it’ll take to

Before Mark could finish, Ryan struck him with a backhanded slap, sending him flying through
the air.
The blow left Mark dazed, his ears ringing as tears streamed down his face. Blood dripped from his mouth, and one side of his face swelled up alarmingly, with four or five teeth knocked loose. Ryan hadn’t even used his full strength–if he had, Mark’s skull would have cracked open.
Bang!
Mark crashed onto the floor below the stage, groaning in pain, barely conscious.
“Go ahead, make that call. Make me regret it,” Ryan said with a dismissive smirk, glancing at Mark sprawled on the ground like a broken dog.
Do
you dare threaten me?
The atmosphere in the hall grew tense, a strange mix of fear and disbelief rippling through the crowd.
Many had expected Ryan not to give Mark any face, but they hadn’t anticipated such brutality. For Mark, the third son of one of Aetheria’s prominent families, to be treated like this was unthinkable. While the Eatons weren’t the most powerful family in the city, they were still a force to be reckoned with.
Ryan was too arrogant.
“Let’s wait and see… Mark’s entire body trembled as he lay on the ground, his fear mingling with seething hatred. Painfully, he fumbled for his phone, his hands shaking. He couldn’t let Ryan. walk away unscathed.
“Ryan, he’s making a call!” Cindy shouted, her voice laced with urgency.
It was clear Mark was summoning reinforcements–likely the Eaton family’s heavy hitters.
Cindy thought Ryan hadn’t noticed, so she quickly reminded him.
Ryan merely chuckled, a casual, almost lazy smile on his face. He glanced at Mark and said, “No need to be sneaky about it. Go ahead, make your call. I’ll give you a chance. But let me warn you: if your reinforcements can’t protect you, I’ll make sure you leave here half–alive.”
His tone carried an unshakable confidence, laced with a cruel indifference to human life. His demeanor left Cindy momentarily stunned, as she felt an unexplainable chill run down her spine.
from where he knelt, his face.
“You’re young–you’ll regret this one day,” Axel muttered softly drenched in sweat. His voice was a mix of gloating and veiled malice as if he were eagerly awaiting Ryan’s downfall.
