Leading the group of three was a tall and imposing young man, standing about 6’1“. His muscular frame, long hair, and a jagged scar running across his brow–resembling a centipede–made for a striking appearance.
Jeremy?” Some people in the hall had already recognized the man at the front. He was none other than Logan’s second son, Jeremy Kane!
The man who had vanished for seven years had returned and his return came after the Kanes
massacre.
“Mercenaries?” Grace’s eyes flashed briefly.
From their attire, she immediately deduced that the three were mercenaries, blood–soaked professionals who roamed foreign lands without regard for law or morality.
Yet, for reasons she couldn’t explain, Jeremy exuded a dangerous aura that unsettled her.
“Interesting. Jeremy’s a martial artist? And an early–Grandmaster Realm one at that!” Ryan remarked, slightly surprised.
The Kanes, a minor family, had produced such a formidable martial artist–a revelation that seemed almost impossible.
Moreover, Jeremy wasn’t just strong; he was ruthless. The overwhelming bloodlust radiating from him was evidence of that.
Based on Ryan’s estimation, Jeremy had claimed no fewer than a thousand lives–a staggering and terrifying number.
Ryan was certain of one thing: despite both being early–Grandmaster Realm, Grace was no match for Jeremy, not even close.
Jeremy’s two companions weren’t weaklings either. Standing on his left and right, they were both mid–Grandmaster Realm fighters, and their murderous aura hinted at a lifetime of spilling blood.
“The skull insignia… Could it be that mercenary group?” Ryan muttered to himself, beginning to piece together their identity.
Though the Kanes are nothing to me, their blood still flows in my veins. So, you should kill yourself!” Jeremy’s snake–like gaze locked onto Ryan, filled with cruelty and sadistic malice. As he spoke, a terrifying wave of pressure surged from him.
The hall’s temperature seemed to plummet instantly.
“How strong!” Cindy, standing in a corner, gasped in shock, her voice trembling as she muttered to herself.

“And if I refuse?” Ryan raised an eyebrow, a hint of amusement in his tone. “You may be but compared to me? Ha! You want me to kill myself? Who do you think you are?”

strong.
“If I make a move, I guarantee your death will be excruciating. Jeremy snarled, his pupils dilating with rage. “I’ll break every bone in your body, let you taste the world’s most agonizing pain, and then send you straight to hell!”
“Mr. Howell, please step back. I’ll handle this, Grace said, taking a deep breath as she stepped forward, placing herself between Ryan and Jeremy. Her tone was firm, her resolve unshaken.
Given Ryan’s immense contributions to the Nolans, Grace had no choice but to ensure his safety.
As for Ryan’s combat prowess, she didn’t take it seriously. To her, Ryan was the greatest doctor in Celestia–not a powerful martial artist. Even if he practiced martial arts, she assumed his skills were rudimentary at best.
Her misunderstanding was understandable. A year ago, when Ryan treated Elis, he had concealed his martial arts abilities, leaving even Elis unaware of his strength.
Furthermore, given Ryan’s age, his dominance in medicine would suggest he had little time for martial arts. It seemed logical to think his combat skills were mediocre.
Even when Ryan had crushed Jon Solomon, an Energy Cultivation Realm mid–tier fighter, earlier, Grace hadn’t been present to witness it. And even if she had, she likely wouldn’t have thought much of it, as any one of her guards could defeat someone like Jon in three moves.
“Attack!” Grace commanded sharply, wasting no time.
The ten guards she had brought with her sprang into action immediately. They moved like machines, following her orders without the slightest regard for their own safety.
Seemingly out of nowhere, each of the previously unarmed guards now held weapons–daggers, short swords, and spiked batons gleaming menacingly.
Swoosh!
The guards moved with ghost–like speed, their footsteps producing sharp, frictional sounds as they dashed forward, causing the ground to tremble faintly beneath them.
In the blink of an eye, they reached Jeremy and his companions.
Jeremy, however, merely smirked, making no effort to move. His two companions, on the other hand, raised their heads sharply.
Their sudden movement unleashed an overwhelming killing intent that filled the air.
The two men surged forward, weapons in hand, meeting the guards head–on.
Despite being outnumbered two to ten they showed no signs of fear–only raw excitement.
