Chapter 10 A Coincidence?
Since the previous rounds were all “big” there’s no way it will be small this time I can’t go with “small”
Richard made his choice. “Big

Just as he was about to place his bet, Jocelyn’s voice cut through the noise around them. ‘Uncle Richard, this time it’s not big. Bet on small, and pick three, one, and four.”
Ten rounds of big–how could this one possibly be small!
Is she trying to mess with me!
This is my last 300 dollars!
“Ten times it’s been ‘big! This round has to be big. Richard muttered, feeling the pressure. Around him, others were making
the same choice.
Taking a deep breath. Richard’s hand trembled as he prepared to place his bet. Sweat started to form on his forehead.
“Richard, go with big! You’ve lost so much already. Just follow us, and you can’t go
wrong!
He nodded and decided on “big.
Suddenly, someone swiftly took the bills from his hand. A calm voice rang out, “We’re betting on small–three, one, and four
“Are you doing this on purpose? Who told you to bet on small?” Richard shot a glare at Jocelyn, his anger rising.
Jocelyn remained unfazed, offering no response.
Nearby, someone else added fuel to the fire, “Well, well, well, Richard! Looks like you’re about to lose everything!”
Richard was frustrated. “This doesn’t count! I didn’t pick that! I’m going with big!”
The dealer placed a hand on Richard’s, urging him, “No changes now, sir. Stick to the rules”
Reluctantly, Richard pulled his hand back, glaring at Jocelyn. “You’re going to regret this, kid.”
The dealer revealed the dice, and they rolled onto the table. “Three, one, four. Small!“
Richard froze, his expression shifting from tense to one of shock and disbelief.
War, what? Did I hear that right?
It really is small?
“Uncle Richard, we won, Jocelyn’s calm voice reached him
We really won!
“Sh*t, it’s small! The people around them groaned in frustration.
We won! We won! Haha!” Richard grabbed Jocelyn’s hand, a huge grin spreading across his face. “What do we bet on now?”
This time, Richard was convinced Jocelyn had a special skill!
Jocelyn smiled softly, her lips curving as she whispered, “Small, three, one, and four.”

Chapter 10 A Coincidence?
Leaning slightly forward, the soft yellow light bathed his features, giving him an almost otherworldly look.
His hand rested on the railing, holding his watch. The black watch made his pale fingers seem even more delicate.
The hand seemed almost too flawless to belong to a real person
A young man appeared beside him, glancing down at the table. “Wow, that was impressive! She called it perfectly!”
Who would’ve guessed a girl could be this good?
“Don’t you recognize her?” the man asked, turning to Caleb.
“Caleb, you know her?” Dominic asked, his gaze locked on the girl below.
Finished
She stood in the spotlight, her pale skin glowing like porcelain. There was a rare elegance to her, a mysterious aura that was impossible to ignore.
The crowd around her faded into the background, almost as if she were in a world of her own.
If Ruby was pretty, this girl was otherworldly, like a moonlit beauty standing in the clouds.
Absolutely mesmerizing.
But there was a coldness to her presence, like the chill of winter.
If Ruby stood beside her, she might as well have been invisible.
Such a beauty was hard to find in Pinecrest, much less in a small city like Cloudhaven!
Dominic was captivated.
“That’s Jocelyn Leif,” Caleb said, breaking the silence.
“Jocelyn?” Dominic blinked, his mind trying to process the name. The Moores‘ fake heiress?”
The man nodded.
“Unbelievable… Dominic stared at her, struggling to reconcile the woman before him with the gaudy, heavily made–up girl he’d seen earlier at the Moores‘ banquet.
Dominic took a moment to compose himself, squinting. He then asked, “Caleb, do you think… she’s doing this to get your attention? How could a young girl like her be so skilled at gambling?”
Especially considering Jocelyn was just a fake heiress, seen as useless by almost everyone.
Dominic’s perception of Jocelyn was so low that it almost seemed natural for him to think this way.
“From the moment she walked into the Moores‘ event tonight, it was all part of the plan. Who in Cloudhaven doesn’t know what Jocelyn’s really like? But tonight, it’s like she’s someone else entirely! She’s been showing up everywhere we are. You really think it’s just a coincidence?”
