Chapter 28 Forced to Owe Him a Favor
The man in the backseat lowered his head and glanced at his watch, a sullen look on his face. This road led straight to the company, and a detour would waste even more time.
A few minutes later, they had slowly inched forward by about half a mile. It was only then that Mathias realized there was an accident.
“Mr. Spencer, it was a rear–end accident.”
Hugo was pondering something with a dark gaze, and when he heard his assistant’s words, he lazily raised his head to check it out.
A slender figure stood next to a car. The wind was quite strong, so the girl’s hair was tousled in the Jwind. Just then, the girl pushed her long hair away from her forehead as she turned around to
look at the passing cars.
The small face was porcelain and charming, and it caught the man off guard when he saw it.
Hugo’s gaze darkened as his pupils constricted in shock.
Her?
“Pull up in front, Hugo said to Mathias.
Mathias immediately swerved and stopped the car at the side. Soon, the car door of the back seat opened, and Hugo got out of the car. Mathis hastily followed him out of the car as well.
Celia was waiting for Bryce and a representative from the insurance company when she caught sight of someone walking toward her out of the corner of her eye.
She turned to look, but as soon as she did so, fierce hatred kapidly gathered in her eyes.
Him?
Hugo was wearing a black suit, and his dark hair was combed neatly to the back. Even on the bustling street, the supreme aura of dignity remained strong as it emanated from him.
When Celia saw him walking up to her, she looked away, ignoring him on purpose.
The two cars had their hazard lights blinking. One of them had its front dented, whereas the other had its rear end smashed in. Both parties involved in the accident were standing right before Hugo’s eyes.
Hugo narrowed his eyes slightly as he asked the woman who refused to look at him, “Did you get
hurt?”
“Go away and mind your own business. Celia looked up. The hatred in her eyes shone even more vividly under the sun.

now! Hurry and deal with this!” The middle–aged man noticed that Hugo had gotten out of a limited edition luxury car, so he wanted to take as much advantage as possible.
“He’s not my husband, and I don’t know him. The insurance company is still on the way, so please wait a while longer.
Celia corrected the man. While she was speaking, a scooter suddenly tried to cut in front of a moving car. With a swerve, the scooter was about to run into Celia when all of a sudden, a long arm reached out and grabbed Celia’s, pulling her back..
Celia fell defenselessly into a firm embrace. She looked up to see the man’s handsome face right in front of her.
“You-” Celia was so pissed that she shoved him away and took a step backward. Her face turned red as well.
When the middle–aged man saw that, he said a little angrily, “And you claim you don’t know him, Miss? You should just pay up! Your boyfriend is driving such a nice car; why are you afraid that you won’t be able to compensate for my losses?”
Hugo only felt that the man was being too talkative, and he was annoyed by that. He turned around and gave Mathias a look. Mathias instantly understood what he meant as he gestured for the man to move away and have a talk with him.
The man went over right away. Celia failed to notice Hugo’s gaze, so she didn’t know what this man was doing.
The man eagerly named a price much higher than his expected compensation. Mathias didn’t even haggle with the man as he compensated the man on the spot.
Elated at the large sum of money he got, the man grinned as he walked over to Celia with a swagger. “I’m leaving now, Miss. You should ask your husband to buy you a nice car later.”
When Celia saw that he was about to leave, she hastily asked, “Why are you leaving now? The insurance company isn’t here yet!”
“Your husband gave me money, so forget about it. I’m in a rush!” With that, the man started his car and slammed the gas pedal, quickly driving away as if he feared Hugo would change his mind.
It was only then that Celia realized Hugo had helped her compensate the man. She quickly turned around and huffed. “What right do you have to interfere in my business? I don’t need you to poke your nose into my matters.”
Hugo watched the cars drive by on the road. It wasn’t safe for her to stand next to the car, so he said calmly, “You should move the car away, or send it to the repair shop.”
Celia refused to acknowledge his gesture. Just then, an SUV pulled up, and Bryce hastily got out of the car and walked toward her. “Celia.”

A dark and cold gaze stared at them from the side, an unknown emotion hidden within. Are they
an item now?
“Why is your car the only one here? What about the car you ran into?” Bryce asked in surprise.
“That man left.”
“Left? Doesn’t he need compensation?” Bryce was so focused on Celia that he didn’t notice. anyone else standing nearby.
Just then, Mathias smiled as he explained. “Our boss helped Miss Stuart compensate him.”
It was only then that Bryce turned to look at the tall figure. His pupils constricted a little. This is the president of Spencer Group, right?
“Mr. Spencer, thank you so much for helping Celia. Bryce thanked Hugo in Celia’s stead.
There was no hint of appreciation in Hugo’s eyes. He even looked a little upset as he stared at Celia for a few seconds, then turned around and left.
Just then, an annoyed female voice sounded behind him. “Wait.”
Hugo stopped in his tracks, but he didn’t turn around.
Celia’s little face was dark as she walked up to him, then said to Mathias, “How much did you give that man just now? I’ll pay it back right now.”
Mathias looked at his boss, silently asking for the latter’s opinion.
“No need.” Hugo didn’t even look at her as a cold look crept into his eyes.
“I don’t want to owe you a favor.” With that, Celia interrogated Mathias, “How much is it, exactly? Tell me.”
“Our boss said there’s no need, so it’s fine. Don’t worry about it, Miss Stuart, Mathias said smilingly.
Hugo was about to leave op
when Celia panicked. She was overcome with emotion as she reached out and grabbed his arm. “Stop.”
Hugo lowered his head, looking at her slender fingers, which gripped his arm. The black fabric of his suit contrasted the paleness of her fingers, and her skin looked like it was shimmering under the sunlight.
“Let go.” He raised his head and looked at her.
Just then, Bryce walked over to them. He was worried that Hugo might hurt Celia, so he said, “Mr. Spencer, I’m very grateful to you for helping Celia, but allow me to handle the compensation.”

Celia suddenly got annoyed as she reached out and took Bryce’s arm, then said to a certain man, “He’s not an outsider. He can mind my business.”
Bryce was stunned for a few seconds as surprised colored his eyes. Was Celia publicly admitting to their relationship?
When the man heard those words, it seemed to flip the rage switch in his mind as he sneered and said to Celia, “Since you don’t want to owe me a favor, I’ll make sure you keep owing me one.”
With that, the man opened the car door and got into the car. Not daring to delay, Mathias followed suit, and the black car quickly drove away.
