Chapter 29 Someone Is Upset
Celia gritted her teeth in fury. As she watched the black car drive away, the hatred in her eyes turned even stronger.
Bryce sensed that something was off, so he asked curiously, “Are you sure that you don’t know Hugo, and nothing is going on between you two?”
Celia sighed, then denied firmly, “No, I don’t want to be involved with him in any way.”
“Fine, since he paid up. let’s forget about it. I’ll send the car to the service shop, and you can go home in my car.” Bryce said to her. However, he could see that there was some history between Celia and Hugo.
She didn’t mention anything about it, but he was dying to know.
After all, he could see that the expression on Hugo’s face was none other than jealousy. Did something happen between them in the past?
Celia looked at him gratefully. “Thank you, Mr. Zamora.”
Bryce nodded. “There’s no need for such courtesy between us. You also said just now that I’m not an outsider, right?”
She smiled helplessly. Right, she didn’t know why she said that either. He gave her the car keys. then went to drive the BMW that was involved in the accident.
Celia was fuming in her heart. What right did Hugo have to interfere in her business? She was perfectly capable of handling the compensation just now, and she didn’t want to owe him any favor.
The atmosphere was grave in the meeting room at Spencer Group.
Hugo’s gaze was fixated on the table, and he wasn’t paying attention to the meeting at all. His mind was filled with the scene of Celia interacting with Bryce just now.
He remembered what Celia said when she took Bryce’s arm. She said that Bryce wasn’t an outsider.
Damn it. Are they dating now? Which stage are they at? Had they shared a bed already? Hugo caught himself pondering stupid questions like those, and the more he thought about it, the heavier he
felt in his chest.
After the meeting, he went back to his office. He didn’t want to deal with the documents piled up on his desk because he had to chase away any thoughts concerning Celia.
He sat on the couch and flipped through his messages on his phone, then suddenly caught sight of Jeremy’s conversation with the woman last night.
He narrowed his eyes as he thought about the girl named Elise, and her gentle and sweet voice.

Hugo sent her a message first. ‘What are you doing right now? Are you free for a chat?”

Celia was still driving, and since she was driving an SUV, she couldn’t risk getting distracted. She heard the message ringtone, but she could only keep driving until she arrived at a red light. It was only then that she took her phone and read the message.
When she saw the sender, she couldn’t help but be slightly shocked. Jeremy’s father?
‘I’m sorry, Mr. Spencer, but I’m driving right now, Celia replied.
‘Can I add you on other platforms? What about Skype?‘
The man’s reply came faster than expected.
Celia noticed that the lights had turned green, so she couldn’t reply for the moment as she patiently focused on driving.
In the president’s office at Spencer Group, after the man sent the message, he didn’t receive at reply even after three minutes. He couldn’t help but prod the inside of his cheek with his tongue as he wondered why he would be so enthusiastic about a girl he had never met, save for the figure he saw from the back.
When he thought about it, he realized that the figure of the girl he saw at the museum that day resembled Celia a lot as well.
After that, five minutes passed, and then ten.
Hugo read through the documents as he stole occasional glances at the phone he put at the side.
Finally, he heard the message ringtone.
He tossed his pen away as he hastily reached out and grabbed it. He navigated to the messages. app and saw that the girl had replied to him with her Skype handle.
Hugo let out a small sigh of relief, then reached out and added her. It would be easier to chat with. her from now on.
Remembering that she was still driving, he decided not to bother her anymore.
After Celia got back to her apartment, she noticed a friend request on Skype. It was from Jeremy’s father.
Celia sat on the couch, her eyes filled with hatred. What right did Hugo have to compensate her stead? She felt horrible to have owed him a favor.

If she had the chance, she would throw cash at his face and tell him that she didn’t want to owe him any bit of favor for the rest of her life.
Yes, she would do that in the future so that her hatred could be appeased.

How could she just give Celia half of the equity of the company she had managed for so many years?
Even though she worked hard in recent years to get that equity back, she ran into some trouble at the notary office.
Also, she thought that Celia would never discover this fact, so she never finished dealing with it.
Unexpectedly, things had gotten even trickier now. She thought that after Avery’s death, the document would never be found, but much to her surprise, Celia found it and even demanded that the equity be returned to her.
Pansy had slipped up.
She gritted her teeth as a murderous look appeared in her eyes. By the looks of it, she could only have firm and complete control over the company’s equity if Celia and her mother were both out of the picture.
“You’d better not force me to that stage, Celia,” Pansy said with a sneer.
However, she didn’t want to go that far, either. She would use other methods to solve this matter, and if none of them worked, she would resort to that last measure.
In the evening, Celia received a call from her father while she was at work,
“Celia, do you have time to come home for dinner tonight?”
“Dad, I’m very busy now, so I can’t go home.”
“Are you busy with work?”
“Yes, I am.”
Just then, someone snatched Callum’s phone away, and Pansy’s enthusiastic voice rang out. “Celia! I prepared lots of nice dishes for you, and I’d love it if you can come home for dinner tonight!”
“Pansy, no matter what tricks you pull, you still have to return my mom’s equity to me.” Celia’s voice was cold and non–negotiable.
“Celia, we’re all family, so you’d better watch yourself, Pansy warned. From the looks of it, she had gone somewhere Callum wouldn’t hear her.
“No one is your family. You snatched my dad and stole my mom’s company, and you’re occupying my home with your illegitimate daughter. Do you hear yourself talking?” Celia would still be nice to Pansy in the past, but now, she was done being nice.
“You–Pansy was at a loss for words.
Celia decisively hung up. There was no point in continuing the conversation. She would get back. everything that belonged to her mother, and she would also find out what exactly happened back

Because Celia was still young back then, and her grandmother was sickly, after her mother died, outsiders would say all sorts of things about her incident. Celia didn’t even have a chance to look at the evidence the police found back then.
She couldn’t leave her mother’s death unsolved; she had to figure out what exactly happened.
It was already nighttime when Celia sat on the couch, hugging herself as the lights illuminated her slender and thin figure. Her long hair fell to her chest, and her pretty face was colored with sorrowful charm.
She was strong and relentless, but also fragile.
She missed her grandmother, and she missed her mother whom she had no memories of. Her tears rolled uncontrollably down her checks.
She suddenly wanted to ask her father some questions. No matter how her father tried to avoid it, she wanted to know if her mother was truly the homewrecker in her father’s eyes.
