Chapter 30 Heartwarming Advice
Why did he not tell her that Pansy had forcefully taken over her mother’s company? That was unfair to her and her mother. It wasn’t a matter of money anymore but their almost broken father–daughter relationship. If even her biological father refused to get the justice she deserved, who else could she trust in the world?
At 2.30PM, Celia arrived at her father’s company. The company was a composite of a four–story building with a large warehouse and workshop on the side. She rarely came here, and their relationship with her father had grown estranged over the years because of Pansy, especially when she almost got raped because of Pansy and her daughter’s scheme.
When she returned home that night, those two framed her for what had happened, and she received a slap from her father. If her father hadn’t slapped her, she would not have run away from home and fallen into Hugo’s well–designed plan. Then, she would not have agreed to marry him so easily, and that nightmare might not have happened.
Therefore, she somewhat hated her father.
Callum Stuart was stunned when he saw his assistant escorting his eldest daughter to his office, and he got up and headed toward the couch. “Celia, what brings you here?”
Sitting opposite her father, Celia asked coldly, “Dad, I came to ask you about my mother.”
Instantly, Callum seemed uneasy, obviously wanting to avoid this topic. “I don’t want to talk about past matters.”
“You know my mom the best, so you must know she’s not like that.” Celia was not going to let him avoid it, though.
“Celia, your mother’s character is no longer important, All I want is for you to have a happy life.” Callum still refused to talk about his deceased ex–wife.
Tears gathered in Celia’s eyes while she stared at her father, hoping he was not as merciless as she thought. “Fine. Since you don’t want to talk about Mom, let’s talk about Pansy! She and Mom grew up together, but why did you marry her right after Mom died? You and Pansy had Yana while Mom was still alive, which meant you had betrayed her as well.” Celia looked at him with resentment and hatred in her eyes.
Callum was shocked to hear what she said, and a trace of guilt flashed in his eyes, having nothing to rebuke.
While looking at her father with angry eyes, Celia questioned, “Do you also know that my mother owns half of the company Pansy is currently hogging? Why didn’t you tell me any of that? Do you even take me as your child?”
Faced with his daughter’s accusations, Callum seemed quite anxious as he adjusted his glasses. “Celia, you suddenly disappeared without a trace five years ago, so I didn’t have the chance to tell you a lot of things. Your mother and Pansy established that company together, but your mother died three months after. Pansy single–handedly took over the company and developed it into its

It was clear from her father’s tone that he was protecting his current wife, and it seemed like he was not going to do anything about Pansy privately overrunning the company and the fact that he kept her mother’s equity a secret from her.
She felt a pang in her heart because she felt like she was a stranger to her father. “I can understand why you chose to hide it from me when I was younger, but now that I’m a grownup, have the right to know, yet you still chose to keep it from me. I’ve already told Pansy that she must return my mom’s equity to me, or else I’m going to sue her. She grabbed her bag and got up. At this moment, she had chosen to stand on the opposite side of her father and his family.
Meanwhile, Callum looked at her in shock. “Celia… What are you going to do? We’re a family:
I
“We were never a family. At the very least, we stopped being a family after you married Pansy.” Tears began welling up in her eyes when she said that. Moreover, her father had no idea what she had gone through in the past.
Feeling somewhat remorseful, Callum rose to his feet. “Celia… I have my reasons.”
However, her eyes were filled with resentment while looking at him. She did not care about the reason because her father’s ruthlessness had pushed her into giving herself to Hugo, causing her to live a life like a slave to atone for her mother’s sins.
He sighed. He thought his eldest daughter had a weak character, but it seemed like she was tough inside. “Celia, I was wrong, and I feel guilty about it too.”
“That is why I want Pansy to return Mom’s equity, and please tell your wife that I won’t compromise.”
Once she was done speaking, she grabbed her bag and left.
“Celia.” Callum called her from behind, but she did not turn around because she was disappointed at her father’s attitude and actions.
That was why she never expected her father’s help in anything and only relied on herself.
When she exited the company, the bright afternoon sun was so bright that she felt dizzy. When she returned to her car, she felt dejected. Then, she drove back to her apartment. Despite the world being a lively place, she was desolate and quiet.
She enjoyed being alone, and besides Bryce and Leah Styles, who was currently in Korshach, she had no one else to talk to. But she did not want to bother Bryce with her personal matters, and Leah was still abroad, so who could she tell her frustrations to?
Later, she bought some fruits on her way home and then sat before her desk. After turning on her computer, she downloaded a file Bryce sent on Skype, which was a new product research. document she needed to revise for him.
Suddenly, she spotted a particular account named in a different language and clicked on it, opening the chat box. Then, she felt conflicted about whether to send him a message.

sent it.
That made her freeze, and she wanted to delete the message but accidentally knocked over the glass beside her, causing it to drop on the floor and break into pieces. Her mind instantly went. blank as she thought her emotions must have affectell her negatively, making her a mess.
Right when she was about to grab a broom, she suddenly heard a notification from her computer. She looked over and saw Jeremy’s father had left her a message on Skype, ‘Miss Wagner, is there anything I can help you with?‘
Celia was dumbfounded for a few seconds before realizing she had forgotten to delete the message, so she tapped on her keyboard, suddenly having the urge to rant her feelings to a stranger. ‘Sorry to disturb you. I’m in a bad mood today and accidentally messaged you!
Did something happen?” the other replied immediately, which obviously showed he was also sitting before a computer.
“I had an argument with my father.‘ Celia discovered she had little to worry about when talking to strangers and could say whatever she wanted.
“What was the fight about?”
“My father married another woman and is so devoted to her and her daughter that he treats me like an outsider. It’s really disappointing. Celia tucked her hair behind her ear, revealing her fair face. Her eyes stared at the screen, hoping to be understood and comforted.
Inside the president’s office at Spencer Group, Hugo stared at the screen for a few seconds before tapping on the keyboard with his long fingers, replying, ‘I feel for you, but I also hope you can put yourself in the right mindset. If that home is not worth going home to, then you should not lower your own standards. Live your own life.‘
While blinking her eyes at the screen, Celia inexplicably felt warm inside. Perhaps this was the most encouraging and heartwarming advice she had heard today. “Thank you. I feel much better, she replied gratefully.
