Time flew by, and I got into the best high
school in the area. I also applied for the dorm,
so I could stay away from the house. I didn’t
even come home on weekends, I was working
a part time job, getting extra cash.
But when summer vacation came, I had no
reason to stay away from home, so I packed

for them, now they were more like a family.

Jake heard the door open, he took off his
headphones, seeing it was me, he smirked.
“Well, if it isn’t Danny, finally decided to
come home.”
“See my new gaming room? Your parents
built this just for me! Sometimes we all watch
movies here together. We’re a family.”
“I told you I’d run you out of the house. This
is just the first step.
I kicked the door open and glared at him.
He smiled and sat down on the floor, looking up at me. “This house is not your place
anymore.”

Sarah was the first to hear him, she shoved
me out of the way, looking tense, she
crouched next to him.
“Jake, what’s wrong? Who hurt you?”
Jake, resting his head on Sarah’s shoulder, cried, “It’s all my fault, I just wanted to relax with a game…”
“You don’t have to fight because of me, everyone needs to be nice to each other. It’s
been half a year since Danny’s been home,
and I’m sure he misses Mom and Dad. If he feels bad, I can leave.”

do you need to keep starting a fight? You get
home and you hurt your little brother, you’re

family is uncomfortable! Jake never did
anything to you, but you on the other hand,
have been nothing but a horrible brother!
Jake defends you, why do you need to make
it difficult for everyone? You try to kick him
out, are you even human?”
