Chapter 28
Jaden’s POV
Hearing Sabrina screaming out like that scared the s**t out of me. I haven’t heard someone scream like that unless they were about to die. I hop up from my chair and immediately ran up to the stairs to see what is going on with her. I see her laying on the
floor crying and in obvious pain. What the hell is going on? Why is she hurting like this?
I call
Nico but he didn’t answer the first couple of times. He calls me back a few minutes later and he is making no sense. He is thanking me for bringing Sabrina to Golden Summit. What in the hell?
“Nice you aren’t making sense, Sabrina is here with me at the house. Sabrina is not there at Golden Summit” I told him,
“Yes, she is. Do you think I don’t know my own mate? I just had s*x with her, she IS here Jaden, you can stop clowning around. I
appreciate you bringing her here and you need to help me protect her from Shelby, I don’t want anything to happen to her. She just went up with one of the Omegas to get my bed linens changed out, so she won’t sense Shelby on my sheets” Nico tells me,
and I know that this is really bad.
I don’t think I can leave Sabrina to go to see what in the hell is going on, but I already have a suspicion of what has happened. I
help Sabrina onto the bed, and she tells me to go. She also drops a bombshell about being pregnant with the heir to Golden Summit, and I really hate to leave her now. It is my main job duty to protect my Luna, and that has NEVER been Shelby. I hate to leave her, but I have to really quick. I already know who I need to talk to as we have an Omega that has a friend who is a witch
and does some iffy spells if the price was right. I make a mental note that I will be reporting her after I get it confirmed what she has done. I told Sabrina that I would be right back and lock her back in the room. I feel guilty for doing it, but I have to confirm
what has happened.
I made really good time getting back to the back, and since I know how Shelby is, I drove up to one of the walls and climbed over
it, to enter the pack lands. I belong here so I won’t have any problems getting around and I headed to the kitchen. I heard the Omegas talking in there already and I got the information that I needed without having to ask any questions, or make myself
known.
“So, that is what she told me. She will give each one of us $5000 dollars each if we call her Sabrina, instead of Shelby for the
next month or two. It is clearly Shelby, but she went to my friend the witch and got some potions made up I heard one of the Omegas telling the group all standing in the kitchen.
“I guess Alpha Nico had met his mate, and took her, and mated with her. Shelby was scared he was going to break the pack up to stay with his mate, so she got the potion to trick him into thinking that she was his mate. It makes a lot of sense as she had been asking me a LOT of questions lately about mates. Getting the potion was smart, but I don’t want to be killed by the Alpha
later for knowing about the trick” another Omega said.
“We can just say that she looked like his mate, and we were tricked too. The good news is that after two months we will all be safe here, as she will be pregnant by Alpha Nico at that time and won’t let him be with the baby unless they all live here at Golden Summit. At least that is what she told me. I am good with it as this has been my home and I didn’t want to go to another
pack” the first Omega said.
“I actually wanted to go to another pack, Shelby is hateful and mean, and Alpha Nico deserves to be happy. You know how it is with having your mate, it is an important bond, plus now, our actual Luna is going through a great deal of pain, because you wanted money from that horrible woman“, a third Omega said and went to leave the kitchen.
“Before you leave, you need to know this Angela. Shelby will kill the one who dares to tell Nico that it isn’t his mate but Shelby with a spell on her. So, you go ahead and do what you want to do, but Shelby said that you will lose everyone you love first before she has them kill you. Give them all a kiss and a hug goodbye because you KNOW that she will do it. It didn’t hurt any of us, sol am calling it a win. I will not be losing my money or having to deal with Shelby being a b***h to me, because of your actions. I won’t do it. I will be sure to let her know you are the only one with a problem with this” the first Omega said, and I see the blood drain from Omega Angela’s face.
This is much worse than I thought, and no wonder Nico is killing Sabrina with the pain, he thinks that it is her, and he is more passionate about being with her since he believes that it is Sabrina. I mindlink Gamma James and head to his office. I got him
up to speed and told him to take as much care as he can, and not let Shelby know that he is aware of her plan, which would let
him continue to be safe.
I slipped out of his office and headed outside, I need to get out of here before anyone saw me, but luck wasn’t with me. I see Nico heading toward me with Shelby on his arm and wish I could escape, but I can’t, I will have to deal with Nico Nico comes up and hugs me and thanks me again for bringing Sabrina to the pack
I looked right at Shelby and said, “Where is Sabrina, Nico?” I already know the answer, but I needed him to know that the person
standing there was NOT Sabrina.
Nico frowned and said, “She is right here Jaden, do not be disrespectful to my mate. I know you two are friends and you will not be hateful to her. She is your Luna, and if I have to Alpha command you to be respectful, I will, Jaden”
“Shelby has never been, and will never be my Luna, Nico,” I told him.
“Didn’t you hear me, Jaden? Can you not see that this is Sabrina and not Shelby?” Nico asked me
“No, I see her, and it is Shelby, with a spell on her. You have lost so much more than you ever thought you would be able to have. by insisting on coming back here to handle the dismantling of the pack. I will tell you what you have won though. A lifetime of regret and having to live with Shelby for the rest of your life, and from what I am seeing and what you have done to Sabrina, you
deserve every single miserable moment of it“, I told him,
“How dare you, Jaden?” Shelby yells at me.
“You are a vicious and conniving woman and one day when the spell is worn off, and Nico is finally able to see what you have
cost him, I almost want to be here to see it, Shelby. You both will be paying for your actions, and I hope that you pay with your life Shelby“, I told them and turned to run back to where I had stored my vehicle. I heard Nico roaring in anger after me as I made it
to the wall to climb, and I knew warriors would be headed my way soon. I climbed back up the wall, and at the top of it, did what I
knew I had to do, as I was never coming back here. There is nothing left for me here.
“I Jaden Wooten, Beta of the Golden Summit pack, relinquish my position and any and all ties to Golden Summit at this time”
before I jumped down to the ground and got in the SUV. Theard Nico howl again in pain at me leaving the pack, and I know that
Shelby wouldn’t understand it, either, but I am not part of her freaking plan and she is not worried about me messing it up. I am
going to have to hurry as I already know that Shelby will be calling her goons to take care of me and Sabrina, and I cannot let
anything happen to her. I will die to protect her. I feel very protective towards her, and it isn’t just that she is pregnant with Nico’s
child.
I made good time getting there and I am just going to turn and burn as I don’t have any time to spare until Sabrina is safe. I unlock the door and see that she just had to deal with it again and I curse Shelby in my head again. We are going to have to find
a way to get Sabrina out of this bond with Nico, I have to help her, and I will because Sabrina never signed up for this kind of pain. I know where that witch that helped Shelby lives and if I have to threaten her to get her to help I will. I am quite sure that
Shelby wanted a potion to hurt Sabrina the most, so I will get a group up and we will go pay the witch a visit, for her to change that part of it in the next batch if we can’t get Nico to accept her rejection. Shelby will continue to get batches made until she gets pregnant, so for the next few months this will continue to happen to Sabrina, and I cannot let her lose her pup because Shelby is a horrible person.
I give Sabrina my phone to call her father or Asher to let them know that we are there because she needs to get onto their lands quickly. I keep checking my mirror because they are not good people, who would do back things to Sabrina when and if they caught her. This is serious and I hope Asher knows just how serious this is. I was relieved to see them already at the gate to get her, but I saw her fall as she ran to get back to her pack, and I already knew what was happening again to her.
That f*****g Shelby, I wish I had just reached out, snapped her neck, and killed her, but I knew Nico would have killed me before i could tell him why I had done it. I tried to hold Sabrina but was pushed away, and then the words I was expecting from Asher, Sabrina is coming with us, but you can just go back to your pack. We will take care of her from now on. You have done enough to her” I go to get up when I felt her hand grip my wrist. Sabrina is showing them that even if she can’t speak, she needs me here.
I look up to see completely surprised faces surrounding us and Asher nods at me, begrudgingly, before I pick her up and carry her to set her in the SUV and follow them to the packhouse. Sabrina was in a great deal of pain, and I had got to get them all up to speed with what happened when we got there. I hope that this will be a quick one, but knowing how pissed off Shelby was, I know it won’t be.
