Chapter 11
“Is that so? Jane, had your brother been a control freak? I think I heard Mr. Westwood mention it before. Parents always worry about their children, your brother must be overly protective of you.”
Sean said, “Mrs Westwood, Jane is an independent individual. Let’s not always bring up her brother.”
Mrs Westwood found it a bit strange, but since Jane had silently agreed, she nodded. “Alright, we won’t bring him up.”
Jane looked at Sean and gave him a thankful look. “Thank you, Sean.”
It wasn’t that she couldn’t let go of Tom.
From the moment she boarded the plane, she had decided to let go.
But her life had always been so closely tied to Tom, almost everything–classmates, friends, teachers–whenever they spoke with her, Tom would inevitably come up in some way.
She had to admit that Sean understood her.
After leaving Tom, she finally felt like an independent individual, no longer relying on another person for her joy or sorrow, without any more attachments, only a sense of freedom.
The editor–in–chief arrived late.
He was indeed a humorous middle–aged man. The moment he saw Jane, he said, “I think we’ve met before.”
Jane had already adjusted her emotions and was fully prepared for the “interview.”
She smiled slightly. “Mr. Lowe, this method of getting close to girls is a bit outdated.“.
Mr. Lowe laughed loudly. “Ms. Lawson, you’re really interesting.”
“I’m not just interesting. My photography skills are also great.”
Confident, generous, humorous, and smart.
After leaving Tom, she could still shine on her own.
Before leaving, Mr. Lowe urged her to join the team. “Our magazine has a special interview coming up, and the person that we’re interviewing is a big shot. We’re in need of a good photographer. If you can, Ms. Lawson, come to the magazine anytime.”
Jane agreed.
“By the way, what I said earlier wasn’t just a line to charm a girl. We really have met somewhere.”
Jane said, “I just arrived in Miran, so maybe there’s a girl who looks like me.”
Mr. Lowe didn’t insist. “Maybe.”
After parting ways, Mr. Lowe sat in the car, racking his brain, trying to remember where he had met Jane before.
His driver asked, “Mr. Lowe, have you fallen for this girl?”
Mr. Lowe immediately retorted, “She’s much younger than me. I only see her as a sister.”
Suddenly, Mr. Lowe realized something.
“I remember where I met her!”
When Tom received the call, he was talking to Officer James

But Tom could not accept that fact.
Officer James’s explanation was simple. “Ms. Lawson disappeared during your wedding. She didn’t take any luggage or a wallet, nothing at all. And there hasn’t been any call for help from her. Mr. Howard, you need to be prepared…”
Tom’s phone rang, and he picked it up. “What’s going on, Eric? I’m busy.”
