While I was in the midst of filing for divorce, Gary and Willow never stopped harassing me every second of the day.
They tried all sorts of ways to try to get me to go back to them.
“Jan, I’ll formally apologize to you, okay? I’ll even get down on my knees for you. You can’t divorce Gary!” Willow exclaimed. “It had just been a lapse of judgment on my part Don’t take it too seriously!”
“I’m sorry, Jan. I was wrong. Please come back,” Gary said. We can’t live without you!”
I listened to their cries of woe over the phone, knowing very well that they were just pretending, I found it hilarious, though.
“It’s too late. You just want me to come back because you want a breeding cow to give you a baby! If that’s the case, why don’t you guys do it yourself? Don’t tell me that your mom still hasn’t gotten pregnant yet?” I said, poking fun at them.
They knew from my tone that I was adamant about getting a divorce,
Given that the pleading approach didn’t work on me anymore, they started to threaten me.
“Janice Lowry, if you don’t come back, I’m going to break both your legs as soon as I see you! You’re too cruel and heartless, you heard that? How could you just abandon your family like this? That’s not how it works!”
“If you don’t come back, I’m going to drink rat poison and kill myself!” Willow screamed. “You’re going to be a murderer!”
I listened as both Gary’s and Willow’s ridiculous demands floated through my phone from the unfamiliar number they’d used to call me. The more I listened to them, the more ridiculous I found it all to be.
I had seen their true colors a long time ago. I hung up on them and blacklisted the number at once.
Just listening to people like them yak was wasting too much of my precious life!
That night, Penny came back with good news. The private investigator hadn’t just found all the evidence needed for me to file for divorce because Gary had been cheating on me–he had also found proof of Drake taking bribes from people at work!
That was wonderful news indeed.
I immediately made a report against Drake for bribery and wrote my name down as Lesley Hummer.
Hadn’t she just been badly beaten up by him a few days ago? She should be thanking me this time for getting revenge against him on her behalf!
