So I Had a Baby with the Mistress—Divorce? Seriously? Ch 4
Chapter 4
Ethan froze for a few seconds, then hurriedly squatted down to hold me.

“How can there be blood from just a fall?”

I tried to stand but broke out in cold sweat, my lips trembling.

“Call 911, hurry, get me to the hospital!”

Sophia Sunny pushed through the crowd, “Don’t make a fuss; it’s probably just your period.”

She said I was exaggerating and should go home to rest if I felt unwell.

Ethan’s face turned disappointed.

“So you weren’t pregnant after all.”

I was about to explain, but a sharp pain twisted my abdomen, forcing me to bite down hard to endure it.

Ethan eventually pulled me up, saying he’d stay with Sophia Sunny and call me a cab home.

As the door opened, I ran into Michael.

He exclaimed, “Olivia, why are you at a bar?”

But then he noticed the growing bloodstains on my pants, his expression changing drastically.

“Why is there bleeding again? Didn’t the doctor tell you to take care of the pregnancy?”

In panic, he shouted loudly, causing everyone, including Ethan, to freeze.

Ethan looked confused, stuttering.

“You, you’re pregnant? That can’t be true, right?”

Michael quickly supported my shaky self, his eyes blazing with anger.

“What kind of husband are you? How can you not know your own wife is pregnant?”

Ethan panicked, saying I hadn’t told him.

Michael yelled at him to stop standing there and drive me to the hospital.

What followed was chaos. By the time we reached the hospital, my clothes were soaked in cold sweat.

When the doctor said the baby was lost, I broke down in tears.

Ethan was in disbelief, pulling the doctor, insisting it wasn’t possible and demanding another check.

“We did three rounds of IVF just to get pregnant!”

The doctor held back anger, his face stern.

“If you knew it was hard, why didn’t you take care? Letting a pregnant woman go to a noisy bar!”

Ethan’s face turned red, left speechless.

After the doctor left, he knelt by my bedside, holding my hand.

“It’s okay, it’s okay. Rest well, we can try for another.”

I pulled my hand away, holding back the pain and sadness of losing the baby.

“Ethan, there’s no chance of us having children together. Let’s get a divorce.”

Ethan froze, looking lost.

“Don’t say things out of anger, honey. I didn’t know this would happen today… And why didn’t you tell me you were pregnant?”

I laughed bitterly. Was it because I didn’t want to say?

On our wedding anniversary, he accompanied Sophia Sunny for a check-up.

The first time I was discharged, he dragged me to celebrate Sophia Sunny’s pregnancy at a bar without a word.

From start to finish, he never gave me a chance.

“The baby wasn’t saved. Maybe it’s fate, a sign from above for us to part without ties.”

I thought Ethan would agree right away.

After all, he liked his high school sweetheart so much. Now that his goddess even had his child, isn’t it a happy ending?

Who knew Ethan would pause for a few seconds, then firmly disagree.

“Sweetheart, we’ve been married six years. How could we last this long without love?”

I scoffed, telling him not to worry and to be happy with Sophia Sunny.

I wouldn’t make a scene or say nasty things.

His friends, who praised him and Sophia Sunny, wouldn’t gossip either.

“Honey, I apologize. I’ve neglected you recently. Let’s not discuss divorce now. You’re not thinking straight, just saying things out of anger.”

He changed the subject, saying he’d get me some food.

Half an hour later, he came back with a pile of takeout food.

“Sweetheart, we’ve been married for six years. How could we have lasted so long if there were no love?”

I let out a sarcastic laugh, telling him not to worry about me and to enjoy his time with Sophia Sunny.

I won’t make a scene or say anything harsh.

His group of sycophant friends, who adore him and Sophia, won’t gossip either.

“Darling, I’m sorry. I’ve neglected you lately. Let’s not talk about divorce right now. You’re not thinking clearly; it’s all just said in anger.”

He changed the topic, offering to get me something to eat.

Half an hour later, he returned with a mountain of takeout.

I glanced at it. There was greasy fried meat, spicy dishes, and even food I’m allergic to.

Although I always knew Ethan didn’t remember my tastes and preferences, it still felt like a slap in the face.

I pushed the lunchbox away and said I wasn’t hungry.

Ethan frowned, telling me not to act up.

“You’ve filled that little notebook of yours with things Sophia Sunny likes. But do you even know I never eat eggplant? It makes my tongue numb and lips swell.”

Ethan turned red and said he’d go get something else for me.

Just then, Michael walked in with a thermos.

“Olivia, I made some nourishing soup for you. Drink it while it’s hot!”

He swiftly opened the lid and placed a spoon in my hand. The aroma was inviting.

Ethan’s expression darkened completely.
