Every mistress says they don’t care about status, that it’s enough as long as the man loves them.
But don’t they want it? Given the chance, those who sneak around would still want to become legitimate.
Amber was no exception. She also had a fight with Jason about it.
I thought she would succeed, but I didn’t expect Jason to directly transfer her away.
Amber came to me crying, asking, “Are you pulling strings behind the scenes? You’re making a fuss about divorce on the surface but telling Jason to transfer me away behind my back. Emily, you’re such a hypocrite!”
I stared at her and spoke disdainfully, “You’re so useless.”
Jason thought transferring Amber away would solve everything.
He rarely came home, but this time he stepped into the house, even bringing a bouquet of flowers. He seemed to be in a good mood.
He bought me many gifts – limited edition rare leather bags, the latest set from a certain perfume brand, various jewelry…
Like presenting treasures, he had people bring them into the house, filling up the entire sofa.
He nodded at me, “Do you like them? If you don’t like these, I can have them send other things.”
I sat without moving, not even looking at him.
Jason sat down next to me, trying to put his arm around my shoulders, but I immediately dodged.
He awkwardly withdrew his hand from mid–air, “Emily, don’t be angry anymore. I know I didn’t handle the situation with Amber well, which made you misunderstand our relationship. I’ve already transferred her away. Are you reassured now?”
“Jason, you don’t think I want to divorce you because of Amber, do you?”
He had a ‘what else could it be‘ look on his face.
I laughed, “I just don’t love you anymore, Jason. Listen carefully.”
I spoke firmly and clearly, enunciating each word, “I, Emily Carter, don’t love Jason Quinn anymore! I want to divorce you!”
His expression cracked bit by bit, “Impossible!”
He strode over, grabbed my shoulders, and stared intently into my eyes, trying to discern the truth in my words.
“You must be throwing a tantrum! How could you not love me? You’ve always loved me to death!”
See? Even at this moment, this man still thought that even if he had cheated, I would love him unconditionally.
Am I, Emily Carter, such a cheap person?
“I’m not throwing a tantrum. I’m telling the truth. Jason, let’s get divorced. Let’s free each other.”
But he, as if gone mad, came over to kiss me, “No! I won’t allow it. Emily, you can only love me. I won’t allow you to not love me!”
His every touch made me feel sick! I pushed him away with all my might, slapping him across the face.
Only then did he seem to wake up from a dream and let go of me.
My eyes were blurred with tears. I doubted whether the man I had once loved with all my heart had ever truly existed.
The person who had once been so wonderful, who had saved me from fire and water, surely couldn’t be the demon standing before me now.
Time had secretly killed my youth.
Get out. Don’t make me say it twice.” I trembled, uste zimy suchou to mer uscles few words.

“Get out. Don’t make me say it twice.” I trembled, using all my strength to utter just these few words.
Before leaving, Jason’s eyes were filled with frost, his voice ghostly as he spoke, “Emily, have you forgotten? We once made a vow that we would never part in this life, and even after death, we would be buried together.”
