The property rights to this villa Jason and I lived in were in my name.
When we bought it, he insisted on putting only my name on it, saying it would protect my interests. He even said that if he ever wronged me in the future, I could kick him out.
At the time, I thought, he loves me so much, how could he ever wrong me?
But who knew hearts could change so easily? Reality had slapped me hard in the face.
I moved out of the villa. Before leaving, I had all the locks changed from the front door to the bedroom, then contacted a real estate agent to help me sell the house as soon as possible.
Actually, I didn’t have anywhere to go.
My dad’s family never liked me much, let alone when the Quinn family fell from grace and everyone was avoiding them, yet I insisted on sticking by Jason’s side.
My dad was furious at the time. Later, I ignored his advice and wholeheartedly followed Jason, suffering and struggling alongside him.
He had laid down a harsh ultimatum then – if I dared to leave, I would no longer be his daughter.
I still left without hesitation.
Now, with my marriage to Jason in ruins, how could I have the face to go back?
I could only rent a place to live temporarily.
After settling in, I sent the divorce agreement directly to Jason’s company.
He tore the agreement into shreds and sent me a photo of it, with a message attached [Unless I’m dead, there’s no way I’m divorcing you]
I can’t describe how I felt when I saw those words.
Angry? It didn’t seem so.
I sent back a middle finger emoji in response, then decisively blocked all his contact methods.
After that, I continued to send him divorce agreements. He would tear them up, and I would send more. It became a kind of silent contest.
In the end, we’d see who would give in first.
I hadn’t looked at Amber’s social media for a long time, but one day her page was pushed to my homepage. It was one of her previous updates.
[Hehe- Brother took me to see the Northern Lights, it was so beautiful! Ahem, the happiest thing is, today I finally got together with brother for real
One of the attached photos showed a blurry silhouette under the Northern Lights, while the other was of two hands tightly clasped on a hotel
bed.
I looked at the date and suddenly laughed through tears. As I laughed, I started to retch.
Disgusting, it was truly disgusting
i sat in the living room all night. When dawn broke, I mechanically dialed a number, “Hello, can you help me with something?”
Jason was determined to make Amber leave. No matter how th
