[Mitchell, am I never going home again?)
Mitchell’s hands trembled violently, his face drained of all color. His shoulders shook as he finally broke down, his cries echoing through the room.
“Nora… What the hell did I do? What have I done to my sister?”

“About the bullying accusations involving your sister–there seems to be more to the story. It’s been years, and surveillance
footage from back then is long gone. But we interviewed former students and staff from the school. Apparently, while your sister
and Maggie didn’t get along, no one recalls your sister ever bullying her. Most of them said your sister wasn’t the type to do such
a thing. It’s a bit of luck, but someone in a neighboring building recorded a video. It’s blurry, but it clearly shows your sister
didn’t push anyone. Maggie fell on her own.”
Mitchell cut the call short, slamming the brakes and pulling over to the side of the road. For a long moment, the only sound in the
car was his ragged breathing. Then came his anguished cries, raw and full of regret.
Mitchell, see? Proving my innocence wasn’t impossible. You just never cared enough to give me the chance.
At the hospital, he lingered outside my room for a long time. He tried to step inside several times, but each time, he stopped
himself, guilt weighing him down like chains.
“What’s wrong? Why won’t you go in?”
Maggie approached him, concern in her voice as she reached out to help him stand.
“I want to see Nora, but I can’t face her. I’m a terrible brother. I’m not even human. I deserve to rot in hell for what I’ve done.”
“What are you talking about? Nora jumped on her own. It’s not your fault,” Maggie said softly.
“Shut up!” Mitchell roared, slapping her across the face.
The woman he once treasured above all else now held no warmth in his eyes. Not even a trace of affection.
“Wh–why did you hit me?” Maggie clutched her cheek, staring at him in shock and disbelief.
“I won’t let you slander my sister anymore! Hasn’t she suffered enough? You vile, disgusting woman!”
“What are you talking about?” Maggie burst into tears, her voice trembling. “When did I ever slander her? I didn’t make her
jump! She’s mentally unstable; how’s that my fault–ahh!”
