Mitchell’s hand shot out, gripping Maggie by the throat and pinning her against the wall. His cold, murderous glare was enough
to make her tremble. It was as though his rage might consume her whole.
“Don’t you dare say another word against Nora! You vicious woman! You stole her necklace and used it to push her to commit
suicide. You even framed her for pushing you!”
“I didn’t!”
“Why are you still lying?” Mitchell’s voice thundered. “I’ve seen the footage! At the graduation party, Nora didn’t push you. It was all your twisted charade! You ruined my sister, you murderer!”
Mitchell tightened his grip as he spoke. Maggie struggled at first, clawing at his hand, but her strength faded quickly as tears
streamed down her face. “Let go… I didn’t… do it… I’m innocent…”
“You call this innocent? I’ve seen the evidence! Give me my sister back!” Mitchell’s voice cracked, raw with grief and fury.
“Help!” Maggie cried out, her voice hoarse, panic seeping into her words as she realized Mitchell was utterly out of control.
If a passing nurse hadn’t intervened, pulling Mitchell back, he might have ended her life right then and there.
“You’re insane!” Maggie gasped for air, clutching her chest as she staggered to the side. Her voice was sharp and defiant, her mask slipping entirely. “You want to blame me? You were the one who insisted she pushed me. You sent her to that horrible boarding school! And you’re the one who told her to just die! How dare you pin this on me. If she really dies, you’d be the
murderer, not me!”
Seeing that Mitchell had found out about everything, Maggie decided to drop the pretense and revealed everything.
Her words hit Mitchell like a blade to the chest. He stumbled back, shaken, his rage momentarily giving way to guilt.
“Shut up!” Mitchell rushed forward, and Maggie, alert, took a step back.
At that moment, a commotion erupted from my hospital room.
