As soon as she sent her message. Jude replied instantly.
“Got it.”
A few minutes later, Jude texted.
“My old injury’s been acting up. Do you mind taking a look next time?
Two million,” Davina shot back.
No reply.
She’d seen his injuries before.
Long–standing stuff.
Nothing life–threatening. Not even close.
Frankly, she couldn’t be bothered.
Jude replied, “Five million?”
Davina glanced at the screen, then finally replied with just one word. “Deal”
Jude replied, “You really drowning in dollar signs now?”
Her lips curled slightly.
She answered with one sentence, “Let me finish this gig first.”
Jude didn’t reply, but Davina could already picture the look on his face, stormy and pissed.
Staring
down at t her last message, Jude’s eyes darkened.
So this was what it came to? No money, no conversation?
Hmph
“Good thing I’ve got plenty of cash
It’s not like Jude hadn’t saved up a fortune over the years.
And with the Wilsons assets behind him, he could burn through money for the next hundred years and still have some left to toss around.
So yeah. If nothing else. Jude had money to burn.
After reading his last message, Davina locked her screen.
The moment she did, the phone buzzed in her hand
she picked it up
Davina frowned. “Who is this?”

“Not interested, Davina said flatly and hung up..
People who opened with vague pleasantries and asked for meetings without saying who they were? Rude. Instant no from
her.
The phone rang again.
She declined the call.
Then, she blocked the number without a second thought.
Besides being rude, something about it just felt off.
The guy clearly sounded like a government type.
And
someone from the system tried to reach her, it couldn’t mean anything good.
Davina had zero time for pointless drama.
Best way to handle trouble? Keep it out of sight and out of reach.
“What’s wrong, Davina? her assistant asked softly.
Davina gave a faint smile. “Nothing. Keep driving”
Kay nodded. “We’re almost there. Just a heads–up, the director said they’ll start rolling the moment you step out of the car. Want to touch up your makeup?”
Kay had worked with her fair share of celebs, so she knew the drill.
Once they passed the checkpoint, cameras would be everywhere, filming every move, every word.
All of it was broadcast live
Some of the bigger names had already been filmed leaving the hotel.
But Davina? She was new. She was not the show’s primary focus, nor their chosen star. Sure, she had a decent buzz, but it wasn’t their top priority.
Davina said, “No need. I’ll go in as I am.”
Caleb had told her. She showed up, smiled a little, and dropped a couple of lines–and she was good..
Kay beamed. “Honestly, you don’t even need makeup. I’ve worked in this industry for years and have never seen skin like yours. You look like you’re wearing a filter–flawless.”
She meant it, [00.
She’d seen plenty of idol girls, but none with a face like Davina’s–barefaced, glowing, practically ethereal.
Compared to her, all those supposedly ‘candid celeb shots online? Weak.
Kay opened the car’s livestream app. “Oh, it looks like they’ve been rolling for a bit already”
Davina glanced over at the screen.
The stream was showing Stella broadcasting from inside her van
