Chapter 19 Does He Even Deserve You?
Davina’s brows furrowed slightly.
It’s him.
She glanced at Ryan, whose lips were already bruised and bleeding.
He didn’t hold back when he threw the punches.
Now that Jude had stepped in and publicly backed her story, no one dared to question it anymore.
Even if they wanted to, no one dared to challenge him.
Ryan clenched his teeth, swallowing his frustration. He knew Jude had done it on purpose, and any protest would only make things worse.
He had no choice but to stomach this.
Begrudgingly, he muttered under his breath, “Mr. Jude, I think there’s been some kind of misunderstanding”
Beside him, Stella spoke up, her voice suddenly soft and sugary, trying to sound like she was on Jude’s level.
“Mr. Jude, maybe there’s a mix–up. Ryan would never harass her. Everyone at school knows she used to chase after him. He never liked her back, so now she’s using this as a way to get revenge. You can’t just go by what you see with your eyes… that’s. not fair.”

part even carried a veiled flirtation wrapped in faux innocence.
Jude’s eyes narrowed, cold and dangerous. “Are you saying I’m blind?”
“N–No, that’s not what I meant…” Stella backtracked fast, flustered. “I just–how do you two even know each other?”
Davina arched a brow
Stella still spoke with that sugary voice to play cute, but it didn’t sound nearly as confident anymore.
Behind them, the security detail Jude had brushed off earlier was now lined up behind him like a wall. Their presence was overwhelming.
“Mr. Wilson….well Mr. Holt…” Even the manager who had brought Jude here looked uncomfortable now.
Jude didn’t answer. He walked straight past Stella and stopped in front of Davina.
They were standing close–too close–and the soft scent of woodsy cologne on him became almost overwhelming.
Davina frowned slightly.
Jude leaned down toward her, eyes locked on hers, and planted both hands on the table behind her, boxing her in.
Right there in front of everyone, he table–walled her.
Because of their height difference, Davina didn’t move an inch. She stayed just as she was–calm, unimpressed. “Daddy, were you into him?” he asked, like someone who had just discovered something utterly baffling
Jude’s annoyingly handsome face carried a smirk, bold and cocky. His eyes practically dripped with mischief. With a raised brow, he added, “Does he even deserve you?”
Davina’s reply was cool. “No, he doesn’t. But I’m not deaf, so you don’t need to lean in like that to make your point.”

Not only did everyone now know that Ryan was so not it—they also just learned that this inysterious woman was apparently. Jude’s daddy.
The crowd watching the scene unfold practically vibrated with excitement.
Some even started shipping them on the spot.
That height gap. Their appearance. That chemistry. It was a perfect match
Stella’s face practically caught fire from rage.

And Ryan, whose face was now swollen beyond recognition, looked like he wanted to disappear into a crack in the floor.
If the guards hadn’t been holding him up, he might’ve tried it.
Just then, someone from the production team walked over with the result.
“Hi, Ms. Davina–congratulations! You’ve officially been cast as Dr. Guinevere Vega in Mytho….….. You ……”
He stopped short mid–sentence when he caught sight of the intense scene in front of him.
Jude and Davina both turned to him at the same time.
Jude stood up slowly, fixing the cuffs on his shirt. As he moved, a flash of toned forearm muscle slipped into view–gone just
as quickly beneath the sleeve.
Davina’s eyes lingered on the hardened callus near his fingertips.
Thank you,” she said, offering the staffer a polite smile. I got it.”
But Stella’s voice suddenly screeched out, jumping several octaves in disbelief. “What did you say?!”
She stormed over to the production assistant and snapped, “Why her?!“”
