Stella clenched her jaw, swallowing her anger and frustration Leaning in close, she whispered to the staff, “What’s the deal here! Are you trying to lose the sponsorship from Summer Group and Holt Group?”
They had an agreement. She was only supposed to show up and go through the motions.
And now this director had the nerve to go bark on his word:
The staff cast a glance at Jude, who stood nearby with a faint, unreadable smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth. Then he said calmly. The director’s decision was made entirely based on the live audition. Ms. Davina’s grasp of the role and emotional presence were impressive. It was clear she came well prepared. If there’s any disagreement, the director said he’s willing to release both audition tapes and let the public judge.”
Stella sucked in a sharp breath.” “You’re seriously going to let someone with a scandalous sugar daddy history star in this film?”

She pointed at Davina, hesitating for a beat before saying, “She’s been kept by some rich guy. Her personal life is a mess. She got this audition by sleeping her way in. Is that really the kind of person you want ruining this production’s reputation?”
Davina knew Stella wouldn’t dare bring up the prison thing. She didn’t want anyone finding out that Davina was actually the biological daughter of Summers–or risk her saying too much.
Jude’s eyes narrowed slightly as he turned to Davina.
Davina gave a cold, razor–sharp smile. “Stella, didn’t I warn you to keep that filthy mouth of yours in check?”
Stella paled at the memory of the last time she got slapped.
The tension between the two was so thick, no one around them dared to even breathe.
“You’re sitting in my spot and mouthing off in front of me. You sure act bold for a fake heiress.” Davina’s tone was chilly, every word laced with warning.
“Shut up!” Stella cut her off with a snap. “Don’t make things up!”
But the crowd was already buzzing
“Wait, what did she just say? Fake heiress?”
“Hold up–they both have the last name Summer Are they related?”
“Don’t tell me Stella’s not the real heiress?”
“No way. Stella’s been the darling of her family for years–everybody knows how lucky she is. Probably just a coincidence.”
“Still, if you ask me. Davina looks more like those Summers boys than Stella does.”
Stella quickly changed her tone, pretending to be calm and composed. “I just can’t stand people with no morals. You know what you’ve done. Everyone knows you used to chase after Ryan at school, and now that we’re together, you’re trying to steal this role with underhanded tricks?
She stopped herself from following Davina’s line of attack.
Because if the rumor that she was a fake heiress actually caught fire, it’d be game over. Everyone would know.
She shot Ryan an irritated look.
Ryan walked over, one hand covering his face. His voice was cold. “Get your director over here. Now.”

Pulling out her phone, Davina tapped open a livestream app.
Jude had just been about to say something, stepping forward, when he noticed Davina’s move.
Instead, he paused, stepped back to stand beside her, and casually glanced at her phone.
The stream title made his brow twitch. “Summer Group’s Heiress Rejected in Audition–Throws Fit with Fiance, Threatens to Pull Funding
Jude was speechless.
