Davina couldn’t shake the thought of how today might change Stella’s standing in the Summers

Would they still spoil her the way they always had, or would things shift now

Following Sacha, Davina walked to the rear of the banquet hall, where Marlon was casually chatting with Grace

Mom, Davina’s here,” Sacha said with a smile, guiding Davina toward them

As soon as Grace saw Davina, her face broke into a warm, welcoming smile

Davina, Grace said affectionately, Come here. Let me get a good look at you.”

Grace appeared radiant, a stark contrast to when Davina had last seen her

Back then, Grace had only seen Davina as her doctorsomeone who had saved her life

But today, the dynamic between them had clearly changed; a closer, more personal bond had formed. After all, today, Davina was her granddaughter

Davina smiled softly in return. Don’t move. Let me do a quick checkup.”

Grace settled comfortably into a chair without hesitation

The Barlows family members around them tried not to laugh, struggling to hold back their amusement

Grace, usually full of energy and impossible to pin down, had always been resistant to slowing down, especially at home. But now, with Davina telling her not to move, she was as still as could be

Davina began her checkup routine, carefully examining Grace

Open your mouth

Stick out your tongue

Alright

now your eyes

Her fingers gently traced the back of Grace’s neck, then moved under her collarbone before checking her pulse

As Davina worked, the room fell silent. Every eye was on her as they waited for the checkup to finish

Ever since Davina had impressed everyone during her last consultation with the Barlows, they had learned to stay quiet while she worked

Marlon watched closely, his brow furrowing with a hint of

concern

After a moment, Davina stood up

Your recovery is progressing well, but it seems like you’ve been pushing yourself too hard lately. You should cut back on physical activity and rest more,” she advised

Sacha laughed. I told you to take it easy and stick to moderate exercise. But you’re still out there dancing every morning and Evening

Grace couldn’t help but feel a little sheepish, like a child caught in the act

Clearing her throat, she said, I know. I’ll be more careful from now on

Marlon, however, couldn’t let it go. His tone was a bit sharp. Davina, why does she get a followup while I’ve only had one injection?”

There was a touch of jealousy in his voice

got more attention and followup, Marlon had barely received

Both he and Grace were under Davina’s care, but while Grace got anything beyond a quick visit

It made Marlon feel a bit left out

Grace shot him a surprised look. Just moments ago, he had seemed fine, but now he was clearly sulking

She’s my patient, so of course, I’ll follow up with her, Davina replied calmly

Marlon, leaning on his cane, looked at her seriously. So what will it take for you to provide treatment?”

Sacha and Grace exchanged a look but didn’t say anything right away

Sacha subtly signaled to the other Barlow family members to continue mingling

Davina smiled faintly at Marlon. Money. And of course, it depends on my mood.”

Marlon gave a nod, accepting her answer

From her conversation with Grace earlier, Marlon had learned something astonishingDavina had cured Grace of a mysterious, longunidentified illness that everyone had assumed was untreatable

The disease, a rare condition with no name, had baffled medical professionals for years, but Davina had effortlessly cured it

This revelation had sent shockwaves through the medical community

The Barlows had gone to great lengths to keep Davina’s identity under wraps

If Marlon hadn’t taken the time to visit Grace and dig deeper, he might never have realized that the young woman who had saved Grace was the same one who had once saved his own life
