Watching Davina rush to check on Grace with such genuine concern, Marlon felt a slight discomfort stir within him.
After all, he, too, had been treated by Davina, yet she hadn’t shown any intention of following up with him. This subtle neglect left him feeling uneasy,
For years. Davina had been the only one who managed to help him, treating his condition without the use of medication relying instead on natural methods.
That was why he had asked her the question earlier.
But with Davina, treatment always came with a price. There was always a price to pay, no matter what the cost. It was simply the way the Silent Order worked.
The Silent Order wasn’t just rooted in traditional holistic medicine; they blended ancient knowledge with the highest standards of discipline.
A single act by someone like Davina could change the course of fate, snatching life back from the brink of death. Healers like her held the power to save or end lives, restoring vitality to the weakest of bodies.
Those in her line of work often lived long, pure lives, free from the ailments that affected others. They believed in the will of the heavens but had the ability to alter it.
They also saw energy and aura as a divine force that guided everything. If someone were to regain their health without paying a price, it would upset both their own fate and the healer’s.
That was why, in the Silent Order’s medical tradition, it was understood that patients had to offer something in exchange for healing
Modern doctors, on the other hand, followed a more structured, standardized system, with prescribed treatments and a focus
on uniform care.
Their expectations were far less intense–just the ability to stick to a curriculum.
The gap between the Silent Order’s ancient practices and the modern medical world could not have been wider.
The price, of course, was often something as simple as money.
Sacha smiled and spoke up for Davina “Uncle Marlon, Davina has her own way of handling things with her patients. We don’t interfere with that.”
Ever since Grace’s miraculous recovery, more and more people had sought Davina’s help.
The demand had grown so large that it was almost overwhelming
Although Sacha hadn’t openly discussed Davina’s methods, it was well–known that the Barlows had access to her.
In turn, the Barlows had reaped the benefits of Davina’s success.
Sacha never interfered with Davina’s choices, whether she decided to treat someone or not–it was always her decision.
Davina gave a small, acknowledging smile and nod.
Just then, a deep, melodious male voice interrupted the conversation. “I’ll cover the cost. Whatever it is, just tell me, Sis.”
Jude walked over slowly, his tall frame and sharp features giving off an undeniable allure. His dress pants accentuated his long legs, and although his manner seemed relaxed, there was an undeniable charisma about him–an almost wild energy
He flashed a playful smile, though his gaze remained locked on Davina.
Marlon’s brow furrowed.
What’s up with this guy today! He’s practically strutting around like some peacock, flaunting himself.

When Jude called her “Sis“, his tone was oddly emphasized, and Davina couldn’t help but feel a slight irritation. Why does he seem to be laying it on thick with that title?
Suddenly, Marlon stood up. “Ahem, Sacha, why don’t you take me for a walk over there? Sitting for too long is starting to make me uncomfortable.”
Grace also stood up. “I should stretch my legs too.
Sacha, catching their unspoken signal, smiled and led them to a different area.
With only Jude and Davina left, she couldn’t help but take a slow, deliberate look at him.
Despite his spoiled–rich–kid appearance, she noticed that his movements–whether standing, sitting, or walking–were surprisingly graceful.
Though his arrogance was obvious, there was something about his posture that radiated a masculinity that couldn’t be imitated.
“I can set whatever price I want?”
Jude’s voice dropped slightly, and he leaned in a little closer to Davina, his smile turning darker and more playful. “Of course. But if you’re really impressed with my body. I could always repay you in kind.”
Even though Davina’s scrutiny of his body lacked any desire, the intensity of her gaze stirred something deep within him.
He was young, filled with fiery blood, and he knew exactly what that heat in his chest meant
