Kennedy’s family hailed from Vlonio as well, and the young men in the city’s elite circles had known each other since they were children. Some of them had even grown up together in the same neighborhood.
Jude and Kennedy were no different–they had known each other since their childhood, though their relationship had never been friendly.
From a young age, they had clashed constantly.
“It’s all just a show,” Jude said dismissively. “I know exactly what kind of person he is.”
Suddenly, his phone buzzed.
He pulled it out and glanced at the screen, noticing the latest updates about Davina.
Jude had secretly set up notifications for Davina’s platform account, so any latest news about her would pop up on his phone.
As he read through the messages, Jude furrowed his brow, but when he saw the new signature she had posted, a faint smile appeared on his face.
Seeing Jude smile like that, Marlon immediately figured out who it was. He shook his head and chuckled quietly.
He couldn’t help but feel that keeping Jude in Zlanta might not have been such a bad thing after all.
He remembered three years ago when he saw Jude return–it had been like watching someone crawl out of the depths of hell, half–dead, as though part of his soul had stayed behind there.
But now, seeing him in Zlanta, Marlon thought it might be a sign that Jude was starting to come back to life.
Saint Paul Academy, as Zlanta’s prestigious institution and one of the world’s top business schools, was a place where the children of the wealthiest families gathered.
Stella, the school’s star student, was always the center of attention whenever she appeared.
When Stella saw the surge of online speculation about Davina’s identity, her face turned pale.
“Stella, isn’t this Davina the same one from our school? How did she suddenly become so famous?”
“Yeah, I even heard someone say she’s the heiress of Barlow Group… How could that be? Who would believe something like
that?”
The two girls following Stella couldn’t help but gossip, dismissing Davina’s name.
They were close to Stella and had been infatuated with her older brothers since high school, always following Stella around as her loyal followers. Under her influence, they had even joined in bullying Davina.
Stella’s expression darkened, and she coldly responded, “How would I know? God knows how she’s been fooling people.”
That damn girl! How did she end up as Barlow Group’s heiresst
met
A country girl abandoned by her own family–how could she possibly compare to someone like me, let alone outrank me
“It might not all be made up. I’ve always thought Davina didn’t really look like her parents… Could she really be a misplaced heiress?” Amanda Palmer suggested casually,
But those words hit a nerve with Stella
The sound of a sharp slap rang out as Stella slapped Amanda across the face.
Amanda stood stunned, her cheek stinging with pain.
“What was that for?” Amanda cried out, her voice shaking.

Stella glared at her. “What misplaced heiress? She’s just a fake! No one will ever like her! You honestly think someone like her could be the real deal?”
Amanda fell silent.
Emily Cole tried to step in. “Stella, Amanda didn’t mean it like that Davina definitely isn’t some true heiress. She looks like a nobody from the countryside.”
Stella’s voice grew icy, and her threat was clear. “I don’t want to hear any more nonsense from either of you! If you keep this up, I’m gonna sew your mouth shut!
With that, Stella turned and walked toward the school gates.
It was the end of the school day, and students were flooding in and out of the campus.
Amanda, still seething with anger, watched Stella leave, muttering through her tears, “What’s so special about her! I even heard someone say she’s the fake heiress. Wasn’t she kicked out of Barlow Group’s banquet just a few days ago?”
Just then, another girl approached, seemingly overhearing Amanda’s words. She smiled and said, “I don’t know about her being a fake heiress, but I did see her get kicked out. That was pretty embarrassing, and yet she acted like it didn’t matter. You’ve got to respect that level of shamelessness.
With that, the girl walked away.
While Stella may have had a lot of fans at the academy, some of the more refined young women, even though they admired. her brothers, didn’t think much of Stella herself.
