Davina grinned and pulled a card from her purse. She handed it to the salesgirl and said, Tll take it.”
The moment the salesgirl caught sight of the gleaming card, her eyes lit up. Her tone became instantly warmer–polite to the point of reverence. “Of course, I’ll take care of it right away.”
Stella’s face darkened immediately. She refused to believe Davina had money. “Davina, quit pretending. There’s no way you actually have money.”
Even the twins looked puzzled as they glanced at the card.
“Where did you get that kind of money?” Cassia asked, his tone icy with suspicion.
Ashen’s voice rose, clearly furious. “Are you crazy? Why do you have to fight Stella over everything? Can’t you see she saw that bag first?”
Davina gave a casual laugh. “What I choose to buy is none of your business. Who are you to me? Just because you’re broke doesn’t mean I can’t spend my own money.”
The twins were momentarily stunned–speechless.

“Ms. Summer,” she said, turning to Stella with a polite smile, “you were the first to pick this out. If you’d like to purchase it now, it’s yours. But if not, I’ll sell it to this young lady.”

The bag wasn’t cheap. The twins were still in school, surviving off allowances.
And with Stella constantly begging them to buy her things, they never had much left.
Their expressions shifted–clearly torn.
Cassia sighed and advised, “Stella, maybe you can get it next time.”
Ashen added, “Yeah, my allowance is all gone. I’ll scrape something together next month, okay?”
Stella’s expression soured even further.
Davina turned to the salesgirl, who caught on quickly and swiped the card without hesitation.
She then pointed to a few more items casually. “That one too. And that one. I’ll get them all.”
“Right away, miss the salesgirl beamed.
Stella, who had been so sure of herself just moments ago, looked like someone had slapped her across the face several times.
