Chapter 25
Knowing Theodore had a fiery temper. JoAdrian treaded carefully, choosing his words with
caution.

“Please, sir, we’re not here to make things difficult for anyone. invited you today to handle the matter between the two families with fairness. Let’s be patient and talk it through,” JoAdrian said in an even tone, hoping to ease the tension.
Vincent, standing beside Theodore, folded his arms and added, “Before anything is decided, we need to hear from Casandra herself. We can’t just let the Warren family dictate how this goes. She has a right to speak her truth.
“For three whole years, Cassandra dedicated herself to Adrian. While he was away, she ran the Jestate, took care of his parents, and fulfilled her duties as a wife. And now, he wants to cast her
aside? It’s disgraceful!” Theodore fumed, his face flushing red with anger.
“Please, sir, let’s wait until everyone has arrived, Adrian said calmly, though his patience was wearing thin.
He had carefully planned how to handle the situation. Given that Valor Estate was surrounded by homes of other prominent families, he knew that inviting neighbors to witness the proceedings would only spark gossip and speculation that could damage his reputation and future prospects.
Originally, he had considered calling an official from the legal department to oversee the paperwork. However, after some thought, he decided it would be best to submit the papers. himself. This way, he could keep things discreet and avoid unnecessary attention.
The Warren family elders had also been summoned. Adrian’s grandmother had passed away long
ago.
but his grandfather’s second wife, was still very much involved in the family’s affairs.
Though that side of the family had not produced any particularly influential figures in recent years, they still held respectable positions. One member had managed to secure a minor government role, similar to JoAdrian and Fredrick, though nothing particularly noteworthy. The two branches of the family had lived their lives separately within Valor Estate, only coming together for major events and festivals.
When Beatrice arrived and learned of Adrian’s decision to divorce Cassandra, she was taken aback. Given the timing, such a move seemed reckless and potentially damaging to his career. But it didn’t take long for her to understand the deeper reasoning behind it.
Cassandra’s family had fallen from grace. The once–powerful name of the Sinclair family was now nothing more than a fading memory. Though the Marquis of Sinclair had once been a highly respected figure, his legacy had not endured, and there was no strong successor to carry
on his name.
On the other hand, Vivian was making history. She was a powerful business woman in the country, a woman who had won the favor of all prominent figures and and the President himself. With such powerful support, her future was limitless. Even if she never stepped onto another

The vice president, ever mindful of the nation’s image, would surely want Vivian to be an example of strength and virtue for women across the Nation.

With my support, Adrian’s career was bound to reach new heights. Compared to what I could offer, Cassandra’s position in his life didn’t hold much weight anymore. Her family, once prestigious, no longer had the influence or resources to help him move forward. But still, why go through the trouble of leaving her? Unless, of course, she had made it clear that I wouldn’t tolerate sharing my future husband with another woman.
i had heard whispers about Cassandra’s jealousy and her supposed lack of respect, but none of that concerned me. What mattered was the future. And the future had no place for her.
Still, I couldn’t deny that she had been loyal–especially to Evelyn, Adrian’s mother. Over the past. year, she had taken care of her with genuine devotion. But was that enough? Every woman in love. had moments of jealousy. If every jealous woman were cast aside, the city would be filled with discarded wives.
Cassandra’s recent outbursts weren’t surprising. They were desperate attempts to hold onto a position she was already losing. She nted Adrian’s attention, his assurance. If he had understood her pleas, maybe a few sweet words would have pacified her. Instead, this entire situation had escalated to something irreversible.
Vivian Carter could never accept sharing her husband. That was something everyone could respect. A woman like her–accomplished, powerful–would never settle for less than being the only woman in a man’s life. It was clear that this divorce was happening because Vivian demanded it. Cassandra was simply collateral damage in Adrian’s ambition and Vivian’s expectations.
“Why isn’t she here yet?”
Evelyn, Adrian’s mother, snapped impatiently. “Send someone to fetch her. We don’t have all day.”
A servant rushed off and returned moments later, not with Cassandra, but with a letter. “Sir, this is from Miss Vivian.
Adrian took the envelope, sighing as he stepped into the corridor to open it. He probably thought Vivian was urging him to reconsider. She had always been too soft when it came to other women. Cassandra didn’t deserve her sympathy, yet Vivian always tried to play the savior.
His expression changed as he read the letter. His lingers tightened around the paper before het carefully read it again. Whatever was written there had clearly caught him off guard.
clenched his jaw, his brows furrowing in frustration. What had Vivian said?
Cassandra had arrived, standing a few steps away from him.
She was silent, her presence almost ghostly. Adrian hadn’t noticed her approach until he felt her eyes on him. When he finally turned, he looked startled–almost guilty.

As if realizing what she might have seen, he panicked, dropping the letter in his haste to hide it.
Cassandra’s gaze flickered to the fallen piece of paper. She hesitated, but before she could take at step, Adrian barked, “Don’t look!”
The sharpness of his tone made her freeze.
He bent down quickly, snatching up the letter and tucking it into his sleeve, his movements rushed and frantic. For a moment, none of us spoke. The tension in the air was thick, suffocating
Whatever was in that letter… it had changed everything.
