And don’t flatter yourself, I was never trying to please you. You’re not that important. Stealing from me and then acting so self–righteous about it–what a performance. But you seem to have overlooked something
She sneered at Evan. “After all this time, you’re still stuck at the first stage, merely proving feasibility. Do you have any idea how far along I am?”
Evan’s heart sank. He stared at Sierra, his expression full of shock..
A terrible suspicion crept into his mind. Sierra’s research had to be ahead of his, or she wouldn’t be saying this.

Even with Jonathan’s help, there was no way she could have finished it.
