Yulia clung to the window frame, her eyes filled with terror as Sierra approached.
“Don’t come any closer! If you take another step, I’ll jump!”
Then jump.” Sierra’s voice was cold. This is the 18th floor. If you jump, your bones will shatter on impact. But don’t worry. you did at least feed me once–I’ll make sure your funeral is taken care of
Yulia was utterly devastated. “How can you be so heartless?”
She truly felt like she had nowhere left to go.
She had thought her past life was miserable, but after experiencing homelessness, she realized that things could always get
worse.
Meanwhile, Sierra was thriving, basking in success.
And every single person who recognized her pointed fingers, cursed her, ridiculed her.

Fine. If this was how the world treated her, then she might as well end it herself.

A hand grabbed her wrist, yanking her away from the window.
Sierra’s grip was firm, her expression void of sympathy. “Enough. Get out.”
Yulia struggled, but there was nothing she could do.
She wasn’t strong enough to fight Sierra off–let alone Johnathan and Dickson, who were waiting outside.
Johnathan didn’t waste time. He gave Dickson a look, and the younger man immediately grabbed Yulia, dragging her out the door.
Then Johnathan called building security. “Make sure she doesn’t come back.”
Only after it was done did the two men turn to the closed bedroom door.
“Mr. Johnathan… Ms. Sierra and her grandmother are they okay?” Dickson asked hesitantly.
“They’ll be fine.”
Johnathan’s tone was steady, but he was more worried about Sierra’s grandmother than Sierra.
Sierra wouldn’t be shaken by this.
But grandma… This was your own daughter.
And Johnathan was right.
After Yulia was thrown out, the light faded from Sierra’s grandmother’s eyes.
She sat in her chair in silence.

Sierra was worried.
If she had known it would turn out like this, she never would have let Sierra’s grandmother see Yulia.
After a long pause, Sierra’s grandmother finally spoke.

She gently ran her fingers through Sierra’s hair, her voice soft.
“When I’m gone, go to Albanos. You have a bright future ahead of you.”
Her Sierra was never meant to be confined to one place.
“Grandma..”
Sierra’s throat tightened.
This was the first time they had ever spoken so openly about death.

Sierra’s grandmother shook her head.
“If that were the case, I would never rest in peace. Follow your heart, Sierra. Don’t let me become your chains.”
That was the last thing she wanted.
Outside, Yulia had been dumped at the entrance of the apartment complex.
She still wanted to cause a scene, but the security guard warned her–if she continued, they would call the police.
She paled.
Yulia had always been a coward.
Her so–called bravery from earlier had probably drained every last ounce of courage she had.
Besides… she wasn’t even sure if she truly had the guts to jump. At least not now.
Lost and hopeless, she wandered aimlessly–only to be grabbed and dragged into a van.
Kason never believed that Sierra would refuse to save her grandmother.
His sources told him that Sierra cherished her grandmother above all else.
But when Yulia, trembling and terrified, recounted everything that had happened, Kason finally understood.
She really wasn’t going to save her.
Yulia, of course, had no idea who these people were or why they were looking for her.
But she did know one thing. They weren’t friendly.
So when Kason asked questions, she spilled everything she knew without hesitation.
Once she had nothing left to say, she hesitated before cautiously asking. “I told you everything… Can I go now?”
Kason’s eyes flickered with amusement.
He looked at the pathetic, shivering woman before him and suddenly smiled.

Kason’s voice was smooth, persuasive, “I can give you a place. You’ll have food, shelter, everything you need.”

“And since you’re Sierra’s adoptive mother, I won’t ask for much in return.”
His words were laced with temptation..
Yulia swallowed.
She had nothing left.
She was worthless.
So there was nothing to lose.
