Chapter 29 Close Call
Salvatore’s POV:

I was watching Bella, intending to personally come over and trouble her, to bring her back to the Leone residence.
Unexpectedly, upon my arrival, I witnessed her being bullied.
“Godfather…” the manager greeted me as he approached.
I nodded at the manager; this mall is also my property, so the senior staff here know me.
I walked directly to the scattered pile of shoe boxes, noticing Bella’s reddened knuckles. I turned to the woman beside her and asked, “Did you do this?”
“Injustice! I came here specifically to see Bella at work, to look after her,” the woman trembled as she spoke, and I could tell she was lying.
I looked at Bella, wanting to hear what she would say. I was there, and if she chose to confide in me, I would certainly stand up for her and teach the person who bullied her a lesson.
But Bella’s face was cold. She preferred to serve the difficult customer rather than see me. “I’m working, you should go back.”
Telling me to go back? And leave her here to be bullied? This little one is really sarcastic!
I grasped her wrist, “What exactly happened? If you don’t tell me, others will come forward and explain.”
It was true, the manager would soon explain everything that had happened. But I hoped she would rely on me and share her grievances.
“I’m just working, I didn’t serve the customer well, that’s all!”
Why is she so cold towards me? She was clearly being bullied!
I clenched my jaw and told the manager, “From now on, this woman is not allowed to shop in any of my properties!”
After speaking, I started leading Bella towards the exit, but she forcefully pulled away from my grasp. I was worried about hurting her, so I lessened my grip.
“No! Godfather! Please let me explain…”
“Take her out.” I knew this woman was the daughter of the Fatale family, and my mother liked her, but I didn’t want to see her anymore. The manager escorted her out, and then I looked at Bella.
“I’m still working how can I just leave with vou! You don’t understand us noor folks at all we can’t

“You’re off work now!” the manager cleverly added.
“See, you’re off work now.” I said, leading her out of the mall.

I pushed Bella into the back seat of the car and then got in myself. The spacious car suddenly felt cramped and the atmosphere turned utterly somber.
She still refused to speak with me, which made me feel somewhat frustrated but also ignited a strong desire to conquer.
Without further explanation, I pulled Bella into my embrace and finally kissed the lips I had longed for.
Her soft breath mixed with a hint of fragrance, intoxicating me over and over.
Bella snapped back to reality and pushed me away, “Salvatore, what are you doing, let go of me! Did you drag me out of my workplace in broad daylight just to kiss me? You, as a godfather, must be terribly bored!”
I was pushed away but felt no anger, instead, I was thrilled that she was finally talking to me.
“I thought you would keep your mouth shut and not say a word to me.”
I stared at her beautiful face, couldn’t help but grasp her breast, then squeezed it. She whimpered softly, trying to push me away, but I only increased my grip and coldly huffed, “You knew the consequences the moment you mocked me, dared to replace my woman? Bella, have you forgotten who you are?”
“Forgotten? Godfather, what joke is this? I never accepted the role of being the godfather’s wife!”
Bella clenched her fists, glaring at me angrily, “Salvatore, I dance on stage to earn money! Is that shameful? Does that embarrass you? If not for the Rizzo family and your mother, I wouldn’t have to work so many jobs! And I’ve explained, I was filling in for Penelope, you bought Penelope’s dance, not mine.”
“Even so, you had no right to replace me with another woman, you know I almost died because of you…”
At that point, I suddenly stopped.
If Bella knew I was allergic to other women but not to her, she would probably be even angrier.
It’s not just for that reason that I want to be with her, but because I’ve discovered that my body really likes Bella. I find her to be an interesting girl, and as my wife, I wouldn’t mind getting to know her better or falling in love with her.
