Chapter 14
were moving, even though her mind was telling her this was a bad idea. Not only was she drawn to the male in front of her like some sort of a magnet, like a boat out to sea desperate to reach a lighthouse in the distance, but he was also her superior. The Alpha of the pack she was visiting had given an order. Even though she knew Jenna was going to kill her if she didn’t get back to her room soon, Sienna had no choice but to follow him back into the woods she’d just rushed out of. It was difficult not to want to go with such an attractive man, but then, keeping her distance was probably a better idea if she wanted to protect her heart. Something told her Kaden would know just how to break it. She couldn’t let that happen, no matter how badly her instincts were telling her this was the man she was meant to be with.
The fact that Alec had asked her to go on a walk and then followed her out was distracting enough, but it was nothing compared to this. The very angry, broad–shouldered, tall, Adonis of a man in front of her was causing all sorts of emotions to well up inside of her, emotions she shouldn’t even be allowed to have.
She couldn’t blame him for leading her right back into the woods where no one would see them. After all, he was the Alpha, and she was a servant girl from another pack–a filthy, grimy, stinky one with blood on her shirt and a bruise on her face. While she’d gotten the impression that the members of his pack thought of him as kind and fair, the sort of person who would welcome everyone, even someone like her, there was no reason for him to embarrass himself.
Keeping up with him was difficult because he was walking with a purpose, and his legs were twice the length of hers. By the time he reached the bench she’d just vacated with Alec, she was practically running to catch up. Unlike Alec, he didn’t sit. This wasn’t a jovial discussion.
“Sienna, is it?” he asked as she caught up to him, trying not to breathe hard.
Sienna nodded her head, not letting the excitement at the sound of her name rolling off of those luscious lips distract her. She was being ridiculous. “Yes, Sir. Alpha Kaden”
“I appreciate the formality, I really do, but just Kaden is fine at the m
moment.
“Yes Sir, Alph-” she stopped herself. “Kaden, Sir.”
He let out a groan. She wasn’t trying to be difficult. She’d just been taught her whole life to show reverence to those who were above her..
“What happened with Sylvia?”
His question didn’t come out as accusatory as much as it did curious. She didn’t know what to tell him. After all, getting Sylvia in trouble was probably a bad idea. Keeping her eyes locked on his spotlessly clean, white, designer tennis shoes, she said, “Miss Sylvia questioned me as to why I was in the even center. Forgive me. I didn’t know guests were not allowed. I was there because Jenna wanted to know what colors the decorations would be so she could make sure her dress would match.” If it didn’t, she had no idea what Jenna intended to do. There was no time to buy another.
Kaden sighed and put his hands on his hips, shifting his weight on his feet. “Guests are allowed in the ballroom,” he said. “So did she try to make you leave?”
Sienna nodded. “She put her hands on me first. I had to make her stop.” That wasn’t quite true. She didn’t have to make her stop. She’d never made anyone else stop ever

Sienna bit back a chuckle. Wussy baby. “I bent her finger backward, Sir.”
The Laugh Sienna had stifled was echoed from between Kaden’s lips. “And she needed her whole arm wrapped up? D’on. You must be stronger ⠀than you look”
Sienna felt red rusli laer face for a completely foreign reason. Not because someone was hitting her but because that was almost a compliment. She said nothing though
“All right. When Lace Sylvia and her friends, I’ll tell them to leave you abune. I believe Lama Hannah has made it clear to Jenna that you’re not to be mistreated while you’re here. Il something else happens, please let me or better yet, heta Alec–know”
lar couldn’t blame him for dismissing her. He likely didn’t want to deal with her any more than he had to. “Yes, Sir
