Chapter 17
The sun was fading behind the trees when Sienna reentered Alpha Kaden’s house. She went through a back door so as not to disturb the family and think up the back staircase. Shrid iliscovered this ride to and from Jenna’s room when she’d left earlier and retraced her steps in reverse to get back to Jenna’s room.
a was standing in front of an open suitcase. “There you are!” she shouted, “Where the hell have you been)” The door was open, and Jenna was Sienna was confused, Jenna had sent her out herself. There was no point in answering the question though. If Jenna really wanted to know, the would’ve waited for a response. Instead, she continued to go off on Sienus. These bags aren’t going to unpark themselves, you lazy brich! I might not be able to hit you while we’re here but believe you me, I will be saving up all of those unacks to administer the second we leave Light Sky
Jenna’s voice was much quieter than usual, but she was just as mean as ever and glaring at her. Sienna knew for a fact that Jenna had said that was going to get the other servants who had accompanied them from home to unpack her bags. She’ll been relieved when Jenna had said that because it was mexitable that Sienna would do something wrong. Now, she had apparently forgotten saying that. Again, pointing out that Jenna had said something different than what she was telling Siem now was just a good way to get herself into trouble, so she said nothing and started unpacking the bags, beginning with a different one than the one Jenna was hovering over
“Dinner is in an hour. I’m going to need your help getting ready, and you’re going to have to take a shower because you stink. I can’t have you
sin standing behind me at dinner smelling like a septic tank.”
Sienna lifted her eyes for just a second and almost looked at Jenna. Did she really want her to take a shower? Why would she need her to attend dinner? It was just going to be the other Alphas and their families. She wouldn’t belong there. But then.. She’d said stand behind her, hadn’t she? Did she want her to act like a butler or something?
Figuring out what Jenna was talking about was futile. She just needed to take on task at a time and get the bugs unpacked. Then, she’d see if jenna still wanted her to take a shower. She only had one other outfit to wear, andl it was also dirty. Wouldn’t it defeat the purpose for her to take a shower if she had to pur filthy clothes back on!
There were several drawers in the large dresser that sat across from the bed. Sienna carefully unpacked Jenna’s clothing and put it in the drawers. using the same ones, right and left, top, bottom, and middle, for the same items as she used at home so that Jenna could find what she needed if Sienna wasn’t around to help her. Then, the hung her clothes in the spacious walk in closet. Sienna thought she could make this place her room if Jenna wouldn’t have a fit to know she was sleeping so close by. Sull, it was big enough for Sienna to sleep in. She wouldn’t even need a car with this plush carpet
“What am I wearing tonight?” Jenna asked with her hands on her hips as slse looked at Sienna

Sienna waited to see if it was a rhetorical question. When it wasn’t, and Jenna actually appeared to want an answer, she cleared her throat and said, “You look very pretty in that pink dress I just hung up, the one with the ruching.“Was that the right word for that wrinkly part
“I do look totally hot in that, don’t “Jenna replied. “I look hot in everything, I wonder what Kaden’s favorite color is. I bet he doesn’t like pink. He might like girls who like pink though. Do you think he likes girly girls or sporty girls? Sienna began to answer, not that she had any idea what sort of girls Kaden liked. She had a pretty good guess what sort of girls he didn’t like.
That was not a question Jenna wanted an answer for, though. “He probably likes truly feminine beauties, you know! Classy ones. Yes. Get the pink dress. That will work. But don’t touch it. Then go find a servant’s shower somewhere. You’re definitely not stinking up my bathroom. You’ll have to hurry. I need you to help me with my jewelry and maybe my hair. Goddess, maybe I should get Veronica. I don’t want you touching me. At least you’ll be clean Why are you still standing there? Go!”
Her feet were moving at the barked command even though her mind hadn’t quite registered all of the starts and stops of what Jenna had been telling her. Sienna darted out into the hallway, glad there was no one coming, and headed off looking for a shower. How in the world she was just supposed to find a shower she could borrow? With no toiletries, no towels, no clean clothes to put on, she wasn’t sure. But she went nevertheless.
The Moon Goddess must’ve been on her side because as she was walking down the hallway, Hannah stepped out of a guest room, saying to whörver was inúde. “We’re so glad you’re here. Let us know if you need anything”
Sienna stopped in the hallway with her head down, waiting for the Luna to pass. Instead, when she turned and saw her, Hannah greeted her “Sienna! Hi, Janory! How are you? Can 1 help you with anything?“
Her kindurss was almost enough to bring a tear to her eyes. “No, thank you, Luna Hamah,” she said, afraid to tell her the truth, even though Hannalı wondid probably be more than willing to help her
Kader’s grandmother didn’t lay the story. “You look lost. Do you know how to get to Jenna’s room?”

“A servant’s bathroom Hannah echoed “Rather than the one in her room?
Sienna didn’t react. Doing so would imply that she felt Jenna had done something wrong, and she didn’t want to give that impression. “Well, all of our servants live in their own homes, and all of our guest rooms are taken. You could use my shower, but I just told Luna Elizabeth that her daughter could use it since she needs to use the shower in her room. Hannah tapped her chin in thought.
Sienna said. “That’s all right. Luna”
“No, no, there’s got to be a bathroom you can use. Oh, wait! Of course! Come here, honey.” She gently took Sienna’s hand in hers and led her down the hallway and across another hallway to a different, more private part of the house. For the second day, someone was touching her in a friendly way. It was bizarre and humanizing in a way Sienna hadn’t experienced in a long time.
They walked into a large, masculine bedroom. “Here you go! You can use this shower. Luna Hannah turned the water on inside of the shower that was almost as big as Jenna’s guest room closet. She turned to pull open a cabinet and grabbed a towel. The gray fabric was huge and fluffy, “I’m afraid there aren’t a lot of flowery soaps or shampoos in here, but it’ll do, won’t it?”
Sienna hadn’t used soap or shampoo in as long as she could remember. “Yes, Luna Hannah. Thank
you so much.”
“Certainly. Now, I think I’m a size or two bigger than you, but I bet I have something you can wear to dinner. You are coming to dinner aren’t you?” “Jenna has ordered me to come, yes?
“Perfect I’ll lay some clothes on the bed for you, honey. Take your
e your time.”
“Thank you. Luna,” Sienna said, knowing it would be tempting to take her time, but she had to hurry to get back to help Jenna.
As soon as Hannah was gone, she got undressed and stood beneath the warm water. The hot water immediately melted the tension in her shoulders and refreshed her mind. She used the available soap to scrub herself. It smelled masculine, but she didn’t care. The shampoo and conditioner were luxurious as well. She could’ve stood in there forever, never going back out to face the world.
But Jenna was waiting and counting smacks, so she had to get out.
Sienna dried herself and her hair the best she could and gathered up her gross clothes. She wondered if it might be possible to get them washed. while she was wearing Luna Hannah’s nice fresh clothes.
With the towel still wrapped around her, she headed out to the bedroom. For the first time, she wondered exactly whose bedroom this was.

got her answer when the bedroom door opened and a man walked in, gasping at the sight of her.
Sienna held on tightly to her towel as he asked, “What are you doing here!”
Dropping her eyes, she fought to find the words, but all that came out was, “Sorry Alpha Kaden.”
