Chapter 7 Moving Into A New Home
Chapter 7 Moving Into A New Home
Song Shuying managed to flash a smile at her two foolish brothers.
Both Song Tianqi and Song Tianheng were extremely delighted.
“Shuying is smiling! I like that!”
Song Tianqi couldn’t help but laugh, and so did Song anheng.
A warmth spread through Zhang Yingyue’s heart. At that moment, her sorrow was forgotten, and she couldn’t help but smile.
“The fear of unknown hardships ceased to exist at that moment. There was only warmth and tranquility.
Unfortunately, such tranquility didn’t last long before it was shattered.
Outside the house, the sound of conversation’could be beard.
Liu Chunhua intentionally raised her voice, saying, “That’s everything moved in. You must be here to pick up Yingyue and the rest, Zhenyu. It’s perfect timing. I just saw Tianqi and Tianheng returning home”
Song Zhenyu didn’t strike up a conversation with Liu Chunhua. Instead, he just gave her a glance.
Seeing that, Liu Chunhua immediately fell silent. She had heard about the shady activities that Song Zhenyu had engaged in previously. She knew he was not someone to be trifled with.
Having been driven away, he was probably stewing with anger. If he were to vent it on her, she could be in trouble. Right then, Liu Chunhua regretted her earlier thoughtless words.
At that moment, Wei Zhilan emerged from the main house, her face devoid of warmth. She said coldly, “What are you standing around waiting for? Hurry up and take your family over to tidy up while it’s still early. You’ve been given everything that’s due to you. Don’t expect us to cook dinner for your family tonight.”
A sense of relief washed over Liu Chunhua when she heard that. With those words, Wei Zhilan had drawn away all the resentment of Song Zhenyu. Compared to Liu Chunhua’s earlier cryptic words, what Wei Zhilan said was truly a heart–piercing speech.
Song Zhenyu glanced at Wei Zhilan. His mother’s gaze was so icy it caused a pang in his heart. After just one look, he averted his eyes, secretly clenching his fists under his sleeves as he turned to walk toward the back room.
Song Shengdong emerged and said to Song Zhenming and Song Zhenxin, “Summon Xinghao and Xingzhi. It’s still early, so let’s make another trip to the fields.”
Song Zhenming had three sons. That day, due to an unexpected event, they had all returned home. However, they had already run off to play earlier.
Song Zhenxin had two sons and a daughter. His wife, Zhao Yuyan, took their daughter to visit her maternal home, and naturally, their two sons went out to play.
When their father spoke, the two naturally didn’t dare to disobey. After all, they relied on their father to finance their son’s education.

Hence, each of them picked up their baskets, took a few small knapsacks, and set out with Song Shengdong. While they were at it, they called their respective children to join them in the fields.
As for Song Zhenyu and his family, they had already been discarded. The crops that hadn’t been fully harvested were no longer their concern.
The sounds from outside reached Song Zhenyu’s cars. He lingered outside the door for quite some time, waiting until Song Shengdong and the others had left before he reached out to open the door and enter
the room.
He had assumed that Zhang Yingyue was still asleep, pondering over how to explain the situation to her. However, as his eyes adjusted to the dim light, he noticed his two sons already packing up. Meeting Zhang Yingyue’s gentle gaze, Song Zhenyu choked up and said, “Yingyue, I…”
Zhang Yingyue’s eyes were gentle, a hint of tears shimmering within. She said softly, “Zhenyu, don’t say anything more. As long as we’re together as a family, that’s all that matters.”
Song Zhenyu responded in a heavily nasal tone, “Okay”
He vowed that he would undoubtedly provide for his family. If food was scarce, he was prepared to go to the mountains to hunt if necessary.
What followed was the task of packing up the family’s belongings.
Zhang Yingyue was about to help pack, but Song Zhenyu stopped her. “Don’t lift a finger. Leave these minor tasks to me. I’ll take Tianheng and Tianqi with me to make the beds. Once Ruying comes back, she all.” can stay by your side. I’ll be back shortly to get you
Everything in that room that could be used belonged to his family, so he intended to take it all with him.
That day, Zhang Yingyue gave birth, staining an entire cotton quilt with blood. Despite the mess, it couldn’t be discarded. After a thorough wash, it could still be used.
Even the sewing supplies and the small wooden stool were taken away.
Even the window paper that Zhang Yingyue had previously saved was cleaned up and taken away.
Song Zhenyu, along with his two sons, moved some quilts and bedding over, leaving Zhang Yingyue and Song Shuying alone in the room.
Before long, Song Ruying returned with a medicine pouch. A wave of unease washed over her when she entered her empty home. From a corner, Zhang Yingyue called out to her gently, saying, “Come here, Ruying. Come to me.”
Song Ruying went over quietly and obediently, not understanding how her brief absence could have led to such drastic changes at home.
With a gentle touch, Zhang Yingyue stroked Song Ruying’s dry hair and softly said, “Ruying, we are moving to a new home. Your father and your elder brothers have already gone to set up the beds. Soon, they will come to pick us up.”
Song Ruying seemed to understand. She wanted to say something but didn’t. She turned her gaze to the awake Song Shuying, and seeing Song Shuying’s smile, she also broke into a smile. “Mom, Shuying looks so beautiful,” she said.

Upon seeing Song Shuying smiling again, Zhang Yingyue couldn’t help but gently touch her small face. She then said softly, “Indeed, she’s such a good girl. She hasn’t had milk for quite a while and yet, she hasn’t cried.”
“Ruying, you must be tired today. Why don’t you rest for a while? When your dad and brothers come back, I wake you up,” Zhang Yingyue said gently to Song Ruying.
Song Ruying was only six years old, yet she was expected to work. Her tiny frame was burdened with an oversized basket, and it was truly a hardship for her.
That day, their family was driven out, yet it was also the most unusually peaceful day they had.
Song Ruying climbed into bed and quickly fell asleep nestled next to Song Shuying.
Song Shuying let out a yawn before she continued to sleep. Since they were moving, Zhang Yingyue would be able to get some food. They would soon have food.
Looking at her two well–behaved daughters, Zhang Yingyue felt a wave of tenderness wash over her.
In less than an hour, Song Zhenyu returned with Song Tianqi and Song Tianheng.
All that was left in the house were the mat and quilt that Zhang Yingyue used, along with three little stools.
Song Zhenyu wrapped Zhang Yingyue in a quilt and hoisted her onto his back.
Song Shuying was cradled in Song Ruying’s arms. Song Tianheng and Song Tianqi carried the remaining stools. The family emerged from the house while Liu Chunhua and Wei Zhilan watched from the courtyard.
Upon seeing Song Zhenyu cherishing Zhang Yingyue so much, Wei Zhilan couldn’t help but sneer coldly, “What’s there to cherish about that rotten good–for–nothing? She’s a disaster magnet. If it were up to me, I would’ve drowned her in a chamber pot long ago.”
Song Ruying was quite intimidated by Wei Zhilan. Upon hearing her harsh words, she silently held Song Shuying a bit tighter.
Song Tianqi and Song Tianheng couldn’t comprehend the venomous intent behind those words. In the past, when they were scolded, they would simply lower their heads and admit their mistakes.
The circumstances were unusual this time around. They couldn’t help but glance at their father, Song Zhenyu. They wondered if they were supposed to admit their mistakes then.
Song Zhenyu didn’t halt his strides, nor did he glance at Wei Zhilan. Instead, he gently said to Song Tianqi and Song Tianheng, “Tianqi, Tianheng, pick up the pace.”
Upon hearing that, both Song Tianqi and Song Tianheng immediately stopped fretting.
Wei Zhilan was feeling rather upset. She had hoped to see Song Zhenyu begging on his knees for her to change her mind, but he didn’t. So, Wei Zhilan decided to be less courteous. She went straight to the kitchen, fetched a ladle of water, and splashed it right behind Song Zhenyu and his family.
As the sound of splashing water echoed, Wei Zhilan’s bitter words filled the air. “I wish for the bad luck charm to stay far away from my house and perish. Without such a bad luck charm dragging us
