The doctor said the infection Alison had wasn’t the kind you catch through normal sex.
For a moment, Soren felt a flicker of hope.
“I only slept with her a few times after the wedding,” he said tightly. “Never left protection. You’re saying I still could’ve gotten infected?” The doctor sighed. “Under normal circumstances, your chances of infection would’ve been extremely low. But…. I found the same virus strain in her mouth as well.”
Soren’s blood ran cold.
His mind flashed back to their wedding night. He’d noticed a sore in her mouth, but she’d brushed it off, said it was just an ulcer.
Now he knew better. That was the night she’d passed the virus to him.
Rage surged like fire in his chest. He turned and kicked her hard in the stomach, sending her crumpling to the floor.”
“You filthy bitch! You ruined me!” he roared. “I’ll make you pay for this!“}
Alison screamed, Aunt Hannah begged, cried–but Soren’s fury had already spun out of control.”
Then the doctor spoke again, his voice grim. “If the child is born, there’s a high chance it’ll carry the virus as well. I’d advise terminating the pregnancy.“%
That was the final straw.
Right there in the hospital room, Soren beat the unborn child out of her, blow by blow, blind with rage and betrayal.”
When the doctor performed the emergency D&C procedure, he was stunned by what he discovered.”
“Mr. Armitage, based on the condition of the area and what you told me about your wedding night… she wasn’t using a menstrual cup. That was a post–op mold, the kind they insert after a dilation surgery…“}
And just like that, Soren snapped completely.
“So that’s it!” he spat, eyes wild. “I thought you were staying pure for our marriage. But no, you were just broken! And the rest of you? Completely used up!”
“You lied to me and I’ll kill you for this!”
She hadn’t even finished her postpartum recovery and already he was beating her, torturing her. Her body was covered in bruises and cuts. Word was, she hemorrhaged badly during the D&C. The damage was irreversible–her uterus couldn’t be saved. She’d never have children again.2
Soren didn’t make the scandal public–his pride wouldn’t allow it–but he made sure the whispers spread.
Alison and Aunt Hannah were accused of staging a fake marriage, with Alison branded as a barren woman who’d slept around before the wedding.%
The story was explosive. People couldn’t stop talking about it. They were disgusted, intrigued–and ruthless.
In her past life, Alison had merely been dumped for a medical issue and eventually, sympathy had softened public judgment. But this time? The scandal was so wild, no one was willing to show mercy.
After she was discharged from the hospital, the divorce papers came. She got nothing. Not a dime.”
Soren repossessed the villa. Aunt Hannah could only watch helplessly as everything they had vanished. Left with no choice, they tried to rent a place–but Soren had already anticipated that. He made sure no one would take them in. Even reputable hotels refused to let them book a room.
They ended up in a filthy, damp guesthouse. The kind that smelled like mold and despair.
When Aunt Hannah tried to leave town, Soren’s men blocked her every time.
He wanted to make sure his secrets would never see the light of day. Not ever.
Then one day, Soren came to see me. I could tell he suspected I knew something. He was unusually polite–even offered me a job at his private hospital, under his group. The salary was five times what I was making.
“I actually love my current job.” I smiled and politely declined.}
He looked at me, surprised.
“But don’t worry,” I added with a wink. “Upholding patient confidentiality is one of the basic ethics of being a doctor. Even if my cheating ex is a total bottom–feeder, I still have a duty to protect his privacy.”
“But that day, you were just way too aggressive. I thought you were going to kill me. I had no choice but to tell you what I knew. That doesn’t count.“%
I smiled playfully. His eyes widened slightly, then he broke into a grin.}]
From that day on, everything started going my way. My hospital received an investment from the Soren’s company. The facilities were upgraded. My workload got easier. My environment improved dramatically.
I knew–this was Soren’s way of saying thank you.
Aunt Hannah tried to contact me more than once, but I always managed to dodge her.
Eventually, she had no choice but to stay in that crumbling guesthouse with Alison, barely scraping by.
The medical bills devoured whatever savings Aunt Hannah had left. Alison’s infection wasn’t curable–just managed temporarily. But her condition had worsened. Ever since her wounds reopened, she couldn’t even make it to the bathroom on time. The whole place reeked foul smell.

Aunt Hannah would curse and beat her constantly.”
“This is all your fault! If you hadn’t been such a whore, none of this would’ve happened! I could’ve been living the high life and now look at us–look at you!”
One day, after taking enough of it, Alison finally, lost her mind %
“You think I wanted any of this?” she screamed. “You think I wanted to marry into that family? You were the one chasing that dream, not me! You were the one who forced me to get that surgery!“%
And with that, she snapped.
She grabbed a knife and plunged it straight into Aunt Hannah’s chest.
Then, calmly, she cleaned herself up, dressed in her best clothes and went to find Owen.2
Owen, ever the fool, thought she was coming back because she missed him. Maybe he’d heard she got kicked out of the Armitage family. Maybe he thought she’d finally realized she couldn’t do better.”
He got excited. Took off all his clothes.>
And that’s when she castrated him with a single strike./
“This is your punishment,” she whispered. “You infected me. You destroyed my life. Now you can spend the rest of yours as a eunuch.”%
Owen passed out from the pain. She climbed out his window and jumped.?
Died on the spot.
And just like that, it was over.
Everyone who had hurt me, got the punishment they deserved.
As for me? I was just starting the ride of my new life.
