Chapter 12
The old residence of the Gallegos family.
After sending Charlotte home, Marcus returned to the residence.
“Such a big thing happened. Where did you go last night?” Robert sat on the couch with a dignified air.
“He left with Charlotte. What were you thinking?” The tiger–headed cane kept knocking on the floor.
Everyone in the hall didn’t dare make noise, and even the air froze.
Marcus calmly walked to the couch and sat down. He looked at Terry, who was kneeling in front of Robert.
There were traces of being whipped on Terry’s body, and it seemed that Robert was also angry.
When Robert saw that Marcus stared at Terry, the anger that he had been holding back for the entire night kept growing. “Useless. You left behind evidence for doing such a trivial matter. How can I rely on you in the future?”
Grandfather, I was wrong. I was careless this time. It won’t happen again.” Terry didn’t even dare explain. He was still counting on Robert.
Robert glared at Terry and turned to look at Marcus.
“Marcus, go pressure the Dennis family and ask Charlotte to fulfill the engagement.
“Right now, the most important thing is that Charlotte must not break off the engagement. Marriage has been decided. It will benefit the Dennis Group.”
“Grandfather, there is no need for you to worry about this matter.” Marcus looked at Robert.
“What do you mean? Do you think I’m being too nosy?” Robert was dissatisfied.
“I don’t care what you want to do, but the Gallegos Group must not lose face. You must think of a way.”
“Grandfather, I am currently in charge of the Gallegos Group. I hope that you will respect my solution. Otherwise, I don’t mind you appointing someone more suitable to manage the company.” Marcus refused to back down.
“All right, all right. You’ve grown up, and you dare argue with me, I can’t control you anymore,” Robert said angrily.
“The Gallegos Group is now yours, but it may not always be you.” When Robert saw that Marcus had made the decision, he left these words and returned to his room.
The Dennis‘ house.
“Oh, Charlotte is back.”
Charlotte heard a gloating voice as soon as she entered the house.
She looked into the room and saw his grandmother and uncle sitting on the couch.
They didn’t seem friendly.
“Charlotte, it’s not good for a little girl not to return home at night.” One of her aunts was the first to laugh at her.
“You still know how to come back.” Charlotte’s grandmother, Haley Fabian, was so angry that she slammed her walking stick on the ground. “How shameless. How did our Dennis family have such an unfilial descendant like you?”
Charlotte walked in with a secretive expression on her face.
In Charlotte’s last life, Haley was biased and doted on her cousin, Skylar Dennis. After Charlotte’s parents passed away, Skylar’s parents possessed the Dennis‘ house. And everyone in the family forced Charlotte to give up her position to Skylar.

“Grandma, calm down. Don’t ruin your health.” Skylar patted Haley’s back to calm her down.
“Grandma, what did I do to make you say it so unbearable? Anyone would try to calm down when encountering something like this,” Charlotte said.
“Skylar didn’t go home sometimes. Why haven’t I seen you scold him?”
Skylar was about to speak when Charlotte shrugged and continued.
“I’m fine. Don’t let outsiders hear that. It’s not good to say that you are biased.
“After all, my father was in charge of the Dennis Group, and the position will be handed over to me. What if someone hears it and creates a rumor that you love my cousin more? What if they want to take my position?”
Charlotte said with a smile, but Haley was so angry that she almost couldn’t breathe. She pointed at Charlotte with trembling hands and was speechless for a long time.
“Charlotte, how can you talk to Grandma like that?” The dignified voice of Regan sounded.
Regan was a standard filial son, who was very obedient to Haley. But Regan had only a daughter, Charlotte, so Haley looked down on him.
“Dad, I was in a bad mood yesterday. I also told Mom that I was going to live at a friend’s house.” Charlotte looked at Regan aggrievedly.
Before her rebirth, the relationship between Charlotte and Regan wasn’t good.
Because Lisa was sowing discord between them, Charlotte always felt that Regan didn’t like or protect her. So Charlotte became increasingly distant from Regan.
But Lisa often served Regan. She listened to Regan very much and made Regan happy.
Regan looked at Charlotte strangely. According to Charlotte’s personality, she should go against Regan.
“Mom, Charlotte told us that she would stay outside yesterday,” Loren explained.
Haley glared at Loren. “Let’s not talk about this. Let’s talk about the engagement with the Gallegos family. What are you going to do?”
“What should I do? Of course, I want to break off the engagement Charlotte looked at Haley casually. “Could it be that you want me to get engaged to Terry?
“His affair will always be a humiliation to the Dennis family. I’m afraid it’s not good for us.”
“You can’t say that. Terry just made a mistake that all men would make. As long as you forgive him, outsiders will naturally not say anything more. The rumors will pass soon,” Charlotte’s uncle, Kamren Dennis said.
“Kamren, could it be that Terry has promised you something? Otherwise, how could you defend an outsider?” Charlotte said jokingly.
Kamren blushed and said exasperatedly, “I am doing this for our Dennis family. How many people want to build a relationship with the Gallegos family? Few people can do that. Although Terry is an illegitimate child, it is said that Robert has agreed to let him enter the Gallegos Group after the engagement. Isn’t this a once–in–a–lifetime opportunity?”
“The Dennis family has my father. You don’t have to worry about it.” Charlotte was not to be outdone.
“Dad, it’s not that I don’t want to sacrifice for the Dennis family. But whether or not Terry is worth it, I think you evaluate it again.” Charlotte looked at Regan with open eyes.
“All right, all right. Don’t worry about it, Kamren. I have my plans.” Regan waved his hand.
“Mom, please have lunch with us here.” Regan looked at Haley.

“Mom, let’s go. Don’t let others think that we’re plotting something,” Kamren said as he looked at Haley. He thought that he

couldn’t get any benefits.
“Let’s go.” Haley leaned on her walking stick and glared at Regan. “You raised a good daughter, didn’t you?”
