Chapter 13
After Haley and the others left, Loren held Charlotte’s hand. “Sorry for what happened.”
“Mom, I will protect myself. Where is Lisa?” Charlotte patted Loren’s hand.
Loren sighed, “She is in the room. She said that Terry drugged her and forced her to…”
Charlotte raised her eyebrows. Her parents seemed to believe it..
“Go and call Lisa down,” Charlotte instructed the servants.
In a short while, Lisa’s thin figure appeared on the stairs, and her body swayed as if she would faint at any moment.
“Charlotte, I’m sorry. I didn’t do it voluntarily,” Lisa said as tears streamed down her face.
“Terry drugged me. I didn’t dare say it out. The Gallegos family is too powerful. I am afraid that we will be harmed.”
After seeing that Charlotte didn’t make a sound for a long time, Lisa fell to her knees by Charlotte’s feet with a plop, and she pulled the end of Charlotte’s skirt. She looked very pitiful.
“Charlotte, I know that I am not worthy of your forgiveness. I know that I am not worthy of being your friend. I know that I should leave home.
“But I can’t bear it. I can’t bear to part with my parents and you. I don’t want to leave you.
“Charlotte, can you not chase me away?”
Lisa said as she looked at Regan and Loren.
Before Charlotte could speak, Regan said, “We are a family. It is sad enough for a girl like you to encounter such a thing. Why do you say to leave?”
Charlotte looked at Regan and smiled sarcastically, “Dad has already spoken. Don’t pretend to be sad.”
Lisa did it on purpose, and she deliberately made Regan feel that Charlotte was cruel and that she was pitiful.
“Thank you, Dad.” When Lisa–lowered her head, a hint of pride flashed through her eyes. When she looked up again, she was aiready in that pitiful state again.
Lisa’s act was exactly what Charlotte wanted. It just so happened that she helped Charlotte resolve the urgent issue for the engagement. Otherwise, if Regan listened to Kamren’s words, Charlotte would be a little helpless.
Charlotte pretended to want to say something but hesitated to open her mouth. Finally, she sighed and looked at Regan, “Dad, since this is the case, let’s not talk about the engagement for the time being. I am so tired. I will go back to my room to rest.”
Charlotte was still in college when she was 18 years old.
Oldburn University, where Charlotte was studying, was the number one university in Oldburn. At least half of the outstanding talents in Oldburn’s literary industry, political area, and business came from here.
Charlotte woke up late in the morning.
Lisa didn’t dare wake Charlotte up. She left a note which said that she was going to take a seat for Charlotte.
When Charlotte arrived at the door of the classroom, it was almost time for class.
“Charlotte, you’re here.”
Charlotte had just walked to the door of the classroom when Terry greeted her.
“Why are you here?” Charlotte frowned impatiently.

“I am waiting for you,” Terry said with a loving look.
Terry looked handsome. Although he couldn’t compare to Marcus, his skin was fairer than a girl’s. With his beautiful eyes and his fake gentle temperament, he also gained a lot of female fans in the school.
Charlotte didn’t want to talk too much with Terry at the door of the classroom. She said, “Class is about to begin. See you in the garden next to the second teaching building after school.”
After seeing Charlotte make a promise, Terry let out a sigh of relief.
“All right, I’ll wait for you,” Terry smiled charmingly.
After getting rid of Terry, Charlotte walked into the classroom.
“Charlotte, here.” Lisa saw Charlotte come in and quickly called her to sit together.
Charlotte ignored Lisa while searching for somebody in the classroom.
Finally, Charlette found the oné. She asked, “Excuse me, may I sit next to you?”
Natalia Yarnell looked up and saw Charlotte smiling.
She recognized Charlotte. She had been sitting with Lisa before.
“Aren’t you going to sit with her?” Natalia pouted while looking at Lisa, who was staring at her.
“I want to sit with you.” Charlotte was still smiling and didn’t look at Lisa.
Natalia tilted her head and thought for a moment before moving in.
Charlotte took a seat.
“Charlotte, didn’t you see me? I took a seat for you.” Lisa ran over, and she was unwilling to give up.
“I saw you, but I don’t want to sit with you.” Charlotte leaned against the back of the chair and looked at Lisa sideways.
The students in the class were secretly paying attention to the interaction between the two. After all, everyone knew that Lisa was only adopted by the Dennis family because Charlotte liked her.
Charlotte was the legitimate daughter of the Dennis family, and Lisa could only adorn herself with borrowed plumes.
But Lisa, who relied on the likes of the Dennis family, had always thought highly of herself and offended many people.
If Lisa broke up with Charlotte, she was afraid that her future days would not be easy.
For the first time, Lisa was rejected in public by Charlotte. Her face turned pale. She glared at Natalia, who was giving Charlotte a seat. “Charlotte, in my heart, we are always good friends.”
After saying this, she turned around and left.
Lisa didn’t believe that Charlotte could indeed break up with her. After all, Charlotte had no friends except her.
Natalia shrugged helplessly. She didn’t do anything, but she got herself an enemy.
Charlotte didn’t take it seriously. She turned to Natalia and said, “Excuse me. Can you share your textbook with me?
“I left my book at home.”
“Şure.” Natalia pushed the book over.
“Your skin is so fair.”
“Your eyelashes are so beautiful.”

After Charlotte spoke for the third time, Natalia spoke up.
“What do you want to say? Just say it.”
Charlotte stuck out her tongue. “You found it.”
“Natalia, I want to be friends with you.”
“With me? Do you know me?” Natalia laughed helplessly.
“Lisa? It was this bitch who slept with your boyfriend, right?” Charlotte spread out her hands. “I was also very miserable. I treated this bitch as my best friend and treated her sincerely. But I didn’t expect that she would sleep with my boyfriend.”
Natalia looked at Charlotte in surprise. The first time they spoke, Charlotte told her secret to Natalia. Natalia didn’t expect that.
“Aren’t you afraid that I will tell others?” Natalia tilted her head with a sincere expression.
“You won’t.” Charlotte was serious and certain.
The two girls laughed together.
Natalia was the third daughter of the Yarnell family. The Yarnell family controlled the underground forces in Oldburn. For some reason, the family raised such a simple and cute little girl, Natalia. She was very low–key. Almost no one in the school knew her family background.
In Charlotte’s last life, Natalia had seen Lisa and Terry having an affair and had reminded Charlotte. But unfortunately, Charlotte trusted them too much and didn’t take it seriously.
The morning course soon ended.
Charlotte and Natalia felt like they had met late. They liked each other.
After class, they held each other’s hands and went to the canteen to eat.
While seeing Charlotte and Natalia holding hands, Lisa gritted her teeth.
For a time, the news of Charlotte and Lisa breaking up spread throughout Oldburn University.
After all, Lisa was the most arrogant and domineering in the past.

In front of boys, she pretended to be weak.

But Charlotte trusted and protected Lisa.
So everyone had a grudge against Charlotte.
This time, Charlotte and Lisa had broken up. Lisa had nobody to rely on.
