Chapter 22
Dexter didn’t have the cheek to return to the ball after such a thing happened.
Lisa didn’t see Dexter and called him, but he hung up the phone. Lisa was so angry that she smashed the phone.
“Where is your date? Did he abandon you and run away with another woman?” Charlotte walked over and sat next to Lisa, calmly drinking fruit wine.
“How could that be? He is a little uncomfortable, so I let him go back first.” Lisa instantly remained calm.
“Oh, that’s good. Don’t run away just because you feel embarrassed,” Charlotte mocked.
“Charlotte, I really feel bad you would say this to me. I will prove myself.” Lisa was on the verge of tears.
People passing by thought that Charlotte was bullying Lisa.
Charlotte shrugged indifferently. “Alright, I hope you’ll have a good time. I’ll come to chat with you often.”
The reason why Charlotte did not wish for Lisa to leave so early was that Terry did not come tonight. With her understanding of Terry, he would probably make some move tonight.
Charlotte hated Lisa to the bone, and naturally, she did not want any changes to happen.
Charlotte believed that Lisa would definitely not leave in advance.
She sat on the sofa and drank fruit wine. She looked at Lisa from a distance from time to time. Charlotte then played with her phone in boredom.
“Charlotte, I’m back in the dormitory. Don’t worry.” Natalia sent Charlotte a message.
“Have a good rest,” Charlotte replied.
Charlotte, can I invite you to a dance?” A male voice rang out.
Charlotte raised her eyebrows, wondering why someone would ask her to dance when she was dressed like that. “I’m sorry, I don’t dance.”
“Can I have your phone number?” the man asked, blushing.
Charlotte looked at the boy carefully and suddenly remembered that this was Gavin Gordon.
Charlotte remembered that in her previous life, Gavin was a dark horse in the investment world. The project he invested in had a bonus rate of more than 200 percent.
In her opinion, Gavin was introverted and shy, and she had not interacted much with him in her previous life. Logically speaking, he shouldn’t take the initiative to ask for her phone number.
Charlotte calmly looked around and saw a few men and women looking at them with interest, discussing something.
Charlotte kept silent, and Gavin became more and more uneasy, rubbing his hands.
Charlotte knew what happened and took out her phone.
“Sure, let’s exchange phone numbers.” Charlotte smiled and kept Gavin’s phone number.
Gavin did not expect that Charlotte would agree to his request and was a little stunned.
“You have to keep your eyes open. Don’t be friends with all kinds of people.” Charlotte stood up and looked meaningfully at the group of whispering men and women. She patted Gavin on the shoulder and said, “I’m Charlotte.”
Charlotte’s simple and friendly smile startled Gavin. After a while, he came to his senses and quickly wiped his sweaty palm on his clothes before holding Charlotte’s hand. “Nice to meet you. I’m Gavin.”

Charlotte felt a chill on her back. She suddenly turned her head but did not find anyone looking at her.
She was a little too nervous.
Charlotte retracted her hand, rubbed her nose, and said with a smile, “Go ahead and tell your friends that you got the numbers.”
“I’m sorry. I…” said Gavin, blushing.
“It doesn’t matter. I’m very happy to be able to help you,” Charlotte interrupted Gavin.
Gavin waved and left.
Charlotte sat back in her seat and turned to look in Lisa’s direction, only to find that Lisa had drunk too much.
Lisa gently leaned against a man’s chest. The man hugged her, and she did not struggle or resist.
The man took Lisa out just like that, and no one noticed it.
Charlotte narrowed her eyes and smiled.
She had to sow what she had reaped.
Charlotte raised her head and drank the fruit wine in one gulp. Then she wanted to get up and leave.
But a spotlight suddenly lit up on the stage, and the host went on stage.
“Ladies and gentlemen, it is about midnight, and our dance is coming to an end.
“There’s a special part of this year’s ball.
“In a while, our spotlights will flash on the dance floor and randomly pick a lady. Then we will invite this lady and her date to dance the last dance for us to end this year’s ball.”
As soon as the host finished speaking, the girls became excited and looked forward to the spotlight landing on them.
Charlotte felt a little bored and got up to walk to the door.
Just as she reached the door, Charlotte suddenly felt a sharp light. Then, everyone was looking at her.
Charlotte was speechless. “Dear, the lighting engineer must do it on purpose,” she thought.
She was the only one who did not have a date and was dressed in casual clothes. Why was she picked?
The host said excitedly, “She is dressed in casual clothes. It seems that she is a cool girl. Please come to the center of the stage with your date.
Charlotte sighed.
The people around her automatically made way. Charlotte, who wanted to pretend that she did not hear it, felt speechless,
