Chapter 23
Charlotte was thinking about whether she should do a solo dance or go up the stage to express her gratitude before leaving.
Anyway, she would feel embarrassed for doing either of them.
Suddenly, the audience broke into rapturous applause. All the girls stared at Charlotte with sparkling eyes.
Charlotte wondered if there was something on her face.
Just as she was thinking, Charlotte heard steady footsteps and smelled a familiar cold smell. She quivered all over and turned her head abruptly.
The man in front of her was wearing a dark blue suit and a mask that covered half of his face, making him look mysterious and flamboyant.
Charlotte’s eyes widened in surprise.
The man placed one hand on his chest, bowed, and stretched his hand reached in front of Charlotte, making an invitation gesture.
Charlotte smiled brighter than the sunshine of spring. Her eyes were clear and bright as she looked at the man.
Then she slowly placed her hand on the man’s hand.
It was so warm.
The man held Charlotte’s hand and led her to the dance floor.
The music sounded.
The man held Charlotte’s slender waist and danced gracefully under the spotlight.
The two danced to the music.
Sometimes the dance was gentle and soothing like small streams of water flowing gently, but sometimes it was fierce and passionate like a storm. Charlotte’s every turn was stunning.
Although she was not wearing a dress, her graceful figure and skilled dance steps were still so beautiful that people could not take their eyes off her.
“Marcus, why are you here?” Charlotte leaned in front of the man.
It turned out to be Marcus.
Marcus raised his eyebrows as if he did not expect Charlotte to recognize him.
“I knew it was you when I smelled it,” Charlotte said proudly.
“If it weren’t for you, I wouldn’t have danced,” Charlotte continued.
There was a hint of a smile in Marcus‘ eyes, but he seemed to be pleased with Charlotte’s answer, and he couldn’t help but
chuckle.
Charlotte leaned her head against Marcus‘ chest and felt his heartbeat. “Marcus, your heart is beating so fast.”
Marcus‘ feet paused, and with a little force, he sent Charlotte out.
Charlotte took advantage of the movement and stretched out her arm, making a graceful posture. Then she was pulled back to
Marcus‘ chest.
“How stingy you are,” Charlotte pouted.
The song ended, and the audience burst into thunderous applause.

Charlotte saw the enthusiastic looks of the girls around her and pulled Marcus‘ hand.
Marcus bowed slightly, and Charlotte leaned over to his ear and whispered, “Marcus, let’s run.”
Charlotte’s smile once again shocked Marcus. He let Charlotte take him and do what he thought was childish.
Charlotte happily pulled Marcus and ran out of the school, panting.
She turned around and looked at Marcus, who was breathing steadily.
“This is not fair. Why aren’t you panting?” Charlotte said as she gasped for breath.
Marcus listened to Charlotte’s coquettish voice and thought for a while, saying, “You have poor physical fitness, and you have to strengthen it.”
Charlotte’s face darkened. “Did I want to hear you say this?”
“I’m hungry. I want to have dinner,” Charlotte fumed.
“What do you want to eat?” Marcus took out his phone and prepared to make arrangements.
“Let’s go to the food stands.” Charlotte looked at Marcus slyly.
“That won’t be clean.” Marcus threw his phone back into his pocket.
“I just want to eat snacks.” Charlotte shook Marcus‘ sleeve.
“Alright,” Marcus said calmly.
He couldn’t reject her, so there was no need to shilly–shally.
“Don’t take off your mask. I’m afraid others will covet you.” Charlotte looked at Marcus seriously but jokingly.
Marcus‘ heart skipped a beat, but he didn’t say anything.
So a man dressed in a tall set suit walked along the snack street with a cute girl in casual clothes.
“Is he her brother? He’s so handsome and so warm. I really want to get his contact details,” girls chirped beside them.
Charlotte glared at Marcus in dissatisfaction.
Marcus looked at the sky speechlessly.
“Hello, can I ask for your contact information?” a girl stepped forward and asked.
“No.” Before Marcus could speak, Charlotte had already refused for him.
“Are you his girlfriend?” The girl refused to back down.
“He will listen to me.” Charlotte glared at the girl and then looked at Marcus.
Then…
“Yeah, I’ll listen to you,” Marcus said in a pleasant voice.
Marcus looked at Charlotte, who looked so proud, and felt warm.
“I don’t want to eat anymore.” Looking at so many girls eyeing Marcus covetously, Charlotte lost her appetite. “It’s late. We should go back to school.”
Marcus did not object.
Charlotte and Marcus walked shoulder to shoulder and slowly returned to Oldburn University.
Charlotte saw Jalen from a distance carrying two large boxes.

As soon as Charlotte and Marcus reached the door, Jalen came up to them and said, “I thought you were really giving me a leave, but now you asked me for help again.”
“These are yours.” Jalen handed the two big boxes to Marcus and ran away. “I won’t disturb you.”
“They are from Knapwood Club.” Charlotte looked at Marcus doubtfully.
“My favorite. Let’s go back! I want to share them with Nati!” Charlotte said happily.
Marcus looked at the girl who was walking quickly and smiled. ‘
Soon, they reached the entrance of the dormitory.
“Marcus, thank you for today. Otherwise, I would have made a fool of myself.” Charlotte tiptoed and quickly pecked Marcus, on the chin. Then she picked up the big box and ran away.
Marcus was stunned.
He suddenly felt sweet and unable to contain his excitement.
Marcus unconsciously stroked the place where Charlotte had kissed over and over again as if he could still feel Charlotte’s residual breath and warmth.
The girl’s bright eyes, red ears, warm breath, and soft lips kept appearing in his mind.
His Adam’s apple rolled up and down.
Struggling to suppress the desire in his heart, Marcus turned and left.
Soon, he disappeared into the darkness.
