Chapter 5
This was the first time Charlotte came here, so she looked around curiously.
The dim light brought about a sense of mystery, and people here cared less about their bottom line. Some people wanted to use the darkness to do something dirty.
Suddenly, a pair of slender big hands covered Charlotte’s eyes.
“It is not suitable for children. Close your eyes,” Marcus said with authority.”
“Okay.” Charlotte obediently closed her eyes and leaned into Marcus‘ arms. Marcus took her to her seat.
When Marcus put down his hands, Charlotte was depressed.
Although they were near the dance floor, the security of this booth was too good to see anything outside.
Charlotte curled her lips in dissatisfaction.
Marcus must have done it on purpose.
JMarcus, I want to drink!”
“Serve the wine.”
“Marcus, I want a barkeeper!”
“Find a girl.”
“No! I want a man!”
“Get a male one.”
“One is not enough!”
“Call a few more.”
Marcus shook his head. In any case, nothing would happen to Charlotte since he stayed by her side.
Marcus doted on Charlotte.
At the sight of the scene in front of him, Merlin broke out in a cold sweat on his forehead. He had to remember Charlotte’s appearance clearly. She was the person in Marcus‘ heart.
Soon, the coffee table in the booth was filled with all kinds of mixing wine, and several handsome men were sitting on the sofa.
Marcus did not say anything. He picked up a glass of red wine and slowly shook it.
“Why are you all sitting so far away? Are you here to drink with me or to be a security guard?” Charlotte shouted unhappily.
How could those men dare to be too close to Charlotte? They didn’t want to die.
Marcus nodded. The shrewd manager quickly gestured to the crowd, “Drink with Ms. Dennis!”
Those men got the order and swarmed around Charlotte to flatter her.
“Mr. Gallegos, if you need anything, just tell me.”
Marcus nodded in response.
Merlin retreated,
Marcus stared at Charlotte, who was enjoying herself.
Charlotte didn’t look like she was hurt by a breakup.
Was she overly sad?
It was hard to see through little girls.

Chapter 5
Marcus looked at his watch. It was close to midnight.
Marcus stood up and gazed at Charlotte, who looked drunk.
“It’s time to go home.”
“I haven’t had my fun.”
“Are we leaving or not?”
“No.”
Marcus paused for a moment and then walked out of the booth alone, leaving Charlotte alone.
Charlotte thought, “Crap! Why did he leave?
Have I gone too far and annoyed Marcus?”
Charlotte thought that Marcus had yet to fall in love with her, so he left her alone in anger.
Otherwise, how could Marcus, who was willing to sacrifice his life for Charlotte, leave Charlotte in such a dangerous place?
Marcus left, and Charlotte lost her interest in having fun. She drove those barkeepers out of the booth.
It was a magical day. Charlotte was sent back, and she felt like it was a dream.
Charlotte did not expect that her trusted friend had never treated her sincerely. The man whom she loved wholeheartedly only treated her as a weapon to hurt Marcus. Charlotte was so stupid that she tried her best to help Terry and got Marcus killed miserably.
Fortunately, Charlotte was back.
Charlotte clenched her hands into fists.
She thought, “Terry, Lisa, your good days have come to an end.”
Charlotte did many things on the first day of her rebirth.
She slapped Terry and Lisa in front of everyone righteously and then exposed their love affair. Their images were ruined, and they were in an awkward situation.
This was just the beginning.
However, it was tiring.
“Moreover, why did Marcus leave me behind?” Charlotte wondered.
Charlotte felt like a part of her heart was missing. She felt so empty and uncomfortable. Charlotte tightened the clothes that Marcus draped over her shoulders. Smelling Marcus‘ refreshing scent, Charlotte calmed down a lot. She tried hard to curl herself into a ball and quietly nestled in the
corner of the sofa.
Marcus left alone to scare Charlotte.
Marcus didn
want Charlotte to come to such a dirty place, but she was addicted to it and refused to leave.
As soon as Marcus walked qui of the booth, Merlin greeted him. “Mr. Gallegos.”
“Watch over her.”

Marcus didn’t put the cigarette in his mouth and just quietly looked at the faint light of the cigarette.
Charlotte….
When Charlotte was just taken back to the Dennis‘ house, she was fifteen or sixteen years old, and Marcus was only twenty years old.
When Marcus returned home during the holidays, he saw a little girl in a white lace dress walking around under the beautiful cherry blossom trees. The cherry blossoms fell on her head and shoulders.
That girl was as beautiful as an angel and charming.
Somewhat, Marcus raised his phone and took a photo.
The girl smiled brightly, and that smile was like a ray of sunlight, penetrating through a thick door and shooting into Marcus‘ heart.
Later, Marcus learned that the girl was called Charlotte. She was the daughter of the Dennis family, but she was stolen 15 years ago.
That year, Loren gave birth to a girl in the hospital, but the baby was stolen by her enemy. Since then, the Dennis family tried their best to find the lost daughter.
That
enemy wasn’t a heartless person and didn’t kill a newborn baby.
He abandoned Charlotte in front of an orphanage.

The Dennis family had been looking for Charlotte for 15 years. When they happened to participate in a public service event, they saw the jade bead on Charlotte.
Loren helped Charlotte wear the jade bead on her waist when Charlotte was born. Perhaps it was not in a conspicuous place, so the enemy could not find it, which left a glimmer of hope for the Dennis family to find their daughter.
After a DNA comparison, the Dennis family finally found their daughter.
The relationship between the Dennis family and the Gallegos family was good. After Charlotte came back home, she was quickly brought to the Gallegos family.
“This is Marcus.” Loren introduced Marcus to Charlotte lovingly.
Charlotte looked at Marcus timidly and gently called out, “Hello, Marcus…”
Many years later, Marcus wondered when Charlotte came into his heart.
Maybe it was at their first meeting. Charlotte looked like an elf at that time. Or perhaps it was when Charlotte called out to him gently.
Anyway, since then, Marcus could never forget Charlotte.
But Charlotte fell in love with Terry later.
Marcus asked himself why he had never thought of using any means to snatch Charlotte back, and why he had not even revealed a trace of his feelings to her.
Marcus admitted that he was not a good person, so he didn’t want to put Charlotte into trouble.
Marcus would like to keep Charlotte’s bright smile forever and leave a ray of sunshine in his heart.
Just like that, a cigarette burned out bit by bit as Marcus was lost in his memories.
