After that, Dominic bent down to clean the stains off Mdm. Miranda’s tombstone calmly.
“I have one more piece of good news for you, Mom–Isabelle and I will be getting married soon. You’ve raised her since she was a little girl, so you should be delighted to hear about our wedding.
“As for things with Ophelia… Well, I regret everything, Mom.”
Thunder rumbled loudly at that moment. Dark clouds began converging over the land.
However, Dominic’s statement of his regret rang out clearer than the thunder. My ears kept ringing from his voice.
With dull eyes, I lingered around Dominic quietly. I watched as he opened the car door thoughtfully for Isabelle and discussed the best date to get married.
They were like a match made in heaven. My appearance was just a trial that stood in their way of achieving true love.
Now that the trial was over, those two would be celebrating their true love by sealing it with a holy matrimony. Of course, Dominic decided to give Isabelle the dream wedding I had always wanted, be it the perfect wedding gown, the ring, or the invitations.
He didn’t care about everything in life, including his company. All he did was immerse himself in the upcoming wedding starring him and Isabelle.
The good thing was, I could leave Dominic’s side now. Whenever he and Isabelle went on dates, I didn’t follow him automatically. Whenever they were taking their wedding photos, I could stay in Dominic’s car and put a distance of a few thousand feet between us.
Since then, I tried to not follow Dominic around anymore. Instead, I began distancing myself from him actively.
I didn’t expect to succeed in my efforts. Hence, I was quick to flee from him. After putting a lot of distance between us, I began roaming around the streets like a lost soul.
