“Hello.”
His tone was cold; the respect and politeness from before were completely gone.
Susan said, “Ethan, Lillian is serious/
ill. Why haven’t you come and visited her?”
She was trying to ignore the scene of Ethan leaving that day.
Without waiting for Ethan to answer, she continued, “We’ve found the medicine that can cure
Lillian.”
Ethan replied, “Is that so? That’s good news for you all.”
Susan was stunned.
What did Ethan mean by that’s good news for them? Wasn’t it good news for him?
Susan continued, “We need money; that medicine is expensive.”

Without waiting for Susan to speak again, Ethan hung up the phone.
Upon hearing the beeping sound through the phone, Susan instinctively grabbed her phone tightly.
With her pupils narrowed, she glanced at Lillian.
