Yvonne clenched her teeth and said, “I remember giving her a huge dose of poison. I can’t believe she’s still alive. What a jinx.”
I wondered who she was referring to.
That was when Sean pushed the door open and entered:
“Is Winona awake?”
Yvonne’s body stiffened, and she quickly changed the look on her face. “She’s still unconscious. I just rushed over as well. My poor Winona. Who would do this to you?”
Yvonne spoke while looking sadly at Winona. There were even tears in her eyes.
I was impressed as I watched this. Yvonne was a good actress. She managed to capture the perfect amount of emotion. I would have believed her too if I did not know the whole truth.
As expected, Sean believed her too. He frowned. “The bar has already reported this to the police, but there aren’t any clues yet. The doctors in this hospital are top–notch. This is a property under Winona’s family. They’ll do everything they can to save her.”
Sean approached Winona and grabbed her hand. “Don’t worry, Winona. I’ll get justice for you. You have to get better soon. We’ll get married right away.”
Yvonne watched this as extreme jealousy flashed in her eyes. She clenched her teeth as she glared at Winona in bed.
“You must not have eaten while rushing over, Sean. Why don’t we have a meal first? I know you must be feeling sad right now, but you need to stay healthy if you want to take better care of her.”
Sean frowned while watching Winona in bed hesitantly.
Yvonne said, “Don’t worry, Sean. My sister is here. I’d be worried if Winona was taken care of by a random nurse. Greta has always been reliable since young. You don’t need to worry about anything happening while she’s around.

Sean finally nodded and went off with Yvonne to eat.
I sneered. I never expected to hear Yvonne praise me in my life, but she actually did it in such an ironic situation.
Winona sat up right away after they left. “What the hell?! I had no idea there were two extreme sides to Yvonne.”
I looked in the direction they left. “Are you sure you want to continue putting up this act? Aren’t you worried about Sean being snatched away by Yvonne?”
Winona’s expression remained stoic, and she was calm. “Any man who gets taken away from me easily doesn’t belong to me.”
I had underestimated her.
Two hours later, Sean returned with Yvonne. She stuck close to Sean as she chattered away.
Sean responded to her several times, which was rare for him. They had gotten closer while having their meal.
He walked into the ward and asked me, “How is Winona doing?”
I shook my head. “Her condition is still the same. She hasn’t woken up yet.”
