I walked into the hospital, only to see an empty ward. The only person there was Sean, who was standing there in a daze.
He looked at everything in disbelief. He turned and grabbed me by my shoulders, shaking me while asking, ” Where’s Winona? Where did she go? Why did the doctor tell me that she was never poisoned?”
I had already received the money Winona left for me. There was no reason for me to hide anything now.
“He’s right. She was never poisoned. She had been pretending all this while. I told her about the poison in advance, but she didn’t want to tell you about it because she wanted to test your love for her. But you disappointed her in the end.”
Sean suddenly understood everything. He clenched his teeth and shook his head hard. “It’s not what she thinks. It’s not.”
