I stared despondently at the empty fridge.
I could cook, and sometimes made dishes for Leo when I was in a good mood.
But it was really just average home cooking, probably as far from a professional chef as Mount Everest is high.
No time to think too much.
I was afraid James would want to return me if he knew the truth. I had given some of the million dollar bride price to my parents and donated some to an orphanage. There was no way to get it back.
I got dressed and headed straight to the market to buy groceries.
The only downside of living in a villa is how inconvenient it is to go shopping. By the time I got back all sweaty, it was almost 8am.
I washed my hands, mixed some dough to let it rise, and cooked some porridge with eggs.
Once the dough had risen, I rolled it into small flatbreads, stuffed them with sugar, and pan–fried them until golden.
In less than 30 minutes, I had a breakfast of gelden sugar pancakes with porridge and eggs ready.
“Perfect!” I said, hands on my hips.
I went to wake up Leo first. After watching him wash up, I gave him an important mission.
Go wake up James.
I really didn’t want to face that man right now. It was too awkward, and I always got flustered around James.
I sincerely prayed for these three days to pass quickly.
When the two finally came downstairs together, James looked at the small breakfast table with amusement in his eyes.
He watched the cameras every day and knew his little wife was actually quite lazy.
When she didn’t feel like cooking, she’d give Leo some healthy snacks, then either eat burgers or head out for spicy hotpot herself.
This meal must have been quite an effort for her.
Leo in particular stared at me wide–eyed for a while. If James wasn’t here, he probably would have grabbed his water gun to spray me again.
I started to reflect.
It seemed Leo actually liked my cooking. Maybe I should cook for him more often from now on.
After breakfast, I secretly hid the robot vacuum and rolled up my sleeves to start mopping.
As I mopped, I kept sneaking glances at James,

Why wasn’t this guy doing anything?
He had three days off. Didn’t he have any other family or friends to visit?
Go out and play or meet up with people! What’s so interesting about watching me mop?
But as I peeked, James caught me red–handed.
He leaned back on the sofa, chin propped on his hand. I couldn’t read the emotion in his eyes, just that it seemed dangerous, like he wanted to
eat me up.
“Is there anywhere you want to go?” James asked.
I blinked, not quite understanding.
Leo got it right away. He calm/fotog

“Then let’s go to the amusement park, and bring Leo too.”
“I mean Leo,” I quickly corrected myself, “The three of us can go together.”
James had no objections, and Leo seemed a bit excited too.
I quickly changed into a new outfit. Hehe! Dreamy amusement park, here I come!!
