Seeing her acting so arrogantly. Drayton’s anger grew increasingly intense. He closed incon her. “Isn’t it all about money for you? Whatever you hope to gain from him, I’ll give it to you right now!”
Seeing him about to take out his phone once again to transfer money to her, Janelle couldn’t help but scoll. “Drayton, can’t possibly think that I’m with other men just for the money, can you? Well, you’re mistaken.”
As she spoke, she rose to her feet and approached him, looking directly into his eyes:
“I might as well tell you, the young guy who invited me out for late–night snacks last time was Zachary. We’ve known each other for about six months now, Compared to you, a thirty–four–year–old man, he’s young, full of energy, gentle, and romantic. He satisfies my emotional needs in every way. So, I plan on having a sweet romance with this perfect little sweetheart. Talking about money just feels so crass”
Suppressing his anger. Drayton managed to ask in a voice barely above a whisper. “Did you two sleep together?”
Janelle sneered, “Indeed, he’s no less capable than you in that aspect. We are quite compatible, you know. We’ve been more intimate in half a year than I was with you in a full year-
Slap! Before she could finish, he suddenly raised his hand and slapped her across the face.

“Dray!” she called out rushing over with concern, her eyes darting between him and Janelle. “Are you okay!”
Seeing the blood at the corner of Drayton’s mouth from the slap, she hurried to grab a tissue, dabbing it gently. Once she finished, she turned to Janelle. her voice full of fury. “What on earth was that? Why did you barge in here like a madwoman? Are you out of your mind, being so rough!”
Janelle casually made up an excuse. “Your fiancé just tried to force himself on me, I was merely defending myself.”
Abigail’s expression froze for a moment, before her anger flared. “Janelle, watch your tone! You’ve built quite the reputation for yourself, so stop trying to smear him here!”
Janelle, feeling unbothered by the woman’s attack, couldn’t find the energy to respond. The effort seemed pointless.
But Abigail wasn’t finished. She stepped closer, her voice dripping with suspicion as she demanded, “Tell me, how did you get in here? What exactly are you doing here?”
This was Drayton’s most private residence, after all. Only the Quiller family and herself, as his hancée, were allowed unrestricted access. No “unrelated individuals could simply waltz in.
“Why don’t you ask your man yourself? Why should I have to explain it to you?”
All Janelle wanted was to leave this dreadful place immediately. She turned to retrieve her bag from the sofa.
“Explain yourself!” Abigail stepped in front of her, eyes wide with agitation. “Janelle, I don’t care how reckless you are, but if you dare to act shamelessly in front of my fiance, I won’t let it slide.”
