with Upon witnessing Janelle’s flirtatious behavior toward Drayton, Abigail’s face instantly turned pale anger.
“Dray, what on earth just happened?” Abigail couldn’t help but press Drayton for answers. “That despicable… I sister, why would she come here and cause a scene with you?”

Drayton seemed not to have heard her speaking at all. He just continued silently smoking, his gaze deep and intense, watching as Janelle drove away. He didn’t speak for a long while.
“Dray?”
“Leave me be for now, I need some peace.” He finally spoke up, yet he didn’t address the question she had just asked.
“Leave? Didn’t we agree to go ring shopping in the afternoon, then have dinner together in the evening?” She sounded
anxious.
“You can take care of all the engagement details.

transfer the funds to you wherever necessary.”
He stubbed out his cigarette in the ashtray, discussing marriage as if it were a routine matter, not even sparing a glance at the
woman who was soon to be his wife.
His indifference stung, and Abigail felt a bitter ache in her chest.
She couldn’t shake the image of the earlier confrontation with Janelle. It was clear that this woman had somehow unsettled him.
“I’m sorry.” she murmured softly, her voice almost tender as she wrapped her arms around him from behind. “Because of this… woman from my family, your life has been disrupted.”
Abigail tenderly embraced him from behind, her soft voice offering comfort. “You don’t need to give her any attention. She’s nothing more than a loose woman who’s had over a dozen boyfriends and at least five abortions. She has no shame in front of you. Don’t worry, my parents and 1 will handle her.”
Drayton rather coldly removed her hands from around his waist. “You should go home early, I still have work to do.”
After speaking, he didn’t spare a second glance at her expression or mood. He simply walked toward the stairs, his face impassive.
Abigail stood there, frozen, her heart sinking at the weight of the moment.
The thought of how Janelle had repeatedly caused disruption, especially just how, when she had seen her make advances toward Drayton, burned in her mind..
She took a deep, steadying breath, realizing it was time to take action.
Over at Janelle’s end.
As she drove down the main road, her mind was still somewhat unsealed, and her cheeks tingled slightly with discomfort.
She had been enjoying herself with Zachary that day, feeling more relaxed than she had in a long time. It was a welcome change. But of course, fate had other plans. She ran into that jerk again, and once more, things spiraled into a ridiculous
She wasn’t the type to get caught up in internal struggles.
Despite the fact that Drayton kept reappearing in her life, constantly threatening her on one hand and pursuing her on the other, she tried to maintain her composure. Even though her hormonal balance was not disrupted, her emotions were somewhat in disarray.
She returned home, utterly exhausted, and collapsed onto the sofa.

Just as she began to unwind, her WhatsApp chimed. She picked up her phone, only to see a voice message from Zachary
Janelle, where are you now? I’m sorry, this afternoon my uncle told me that my grandmother had a fall and was rushed to the hospital. It was an urgent situation and he asked me to go to the hospital immediately, so I left without letting you know.”
Janelle mustered up her energy to respond. “I’m fine. How about your grandmother, how is she doing now?”
Cough. “She just twisted her waist, nothing too serious. My uncle tends to make a big deal out of small things.”
“Then take good care of your grandma, I appreciate your company today”
“Do you have any free time tonight? I’d like to ask you out now,” Zachary asked once again.
Janelle paused for a few seconds before typing: I’ve got something else on tonight. We’ve hung out all afternoon already, let’s catch up another time
Before Zachary could respond, she had already turned off her phone. She reclined on the plush couch, closing her eyes and longing for a moment of tranquility to ease her throbbing headache.
Now that she knew Zachary was Drayton’s nephew, deep down, she really didn’t want to get involved, fearing it would only lead to trouble.
Two days of calm and tranquility had passed once again.
Having composed herself, Janelle continued to be engrossed in the renovation of the pet hospital. She was out early and back late every day, wanting to personally oversee many of the details.
That morning, as she was discussing the selection of medical equipment with a staff member, two unexpected visitors suddenly walked into the store.
