Chapter 16 Near Death Experience

The moment she stepped out of the car, she quickly made her way into the living room. Spotting a housekeeper coming toward her, she asked in a frosty tone, “Is Rubina at home?”
Faced with Janelle’s imposing demeanor, the housekeeper found herself at a loss for words. All she could do was point upstairs hesitantly and say, “The lady is… ir busy in the second–floor bedroom.”
Janelle immediately dashed straight toward the second floor.
Arriving at the master bedroom door of Wallace and Rubina, she forcefully kicked open the slightly ajar door!
Rubina was initially seated before her vanity and applying her makeup when the door was suddenly kicked open. Startled, she turned around, only to see it was Janelle. Her face stiffened slightly before she said coldly, “If you need something, wait in the living room downstairs. This is, after all, your father’s and my bedroom. Don’t act so recklessly in here!”
Janelle couldn’t be bothered to listen to her nonsense. She went straight to the vanity table, and with a sweep of her hand, she knocked over some of the expensive cosmetic bottles on the counter!
One of the opened bottles of serum had spilled all over Rubina’s dress, soaking the fabric on her chest. She leapt up in shock.
“You. You b*tch! What kind of mischief are you planning now! Get out!”
Janelle’s icy, piercing gaze bore into her as she said. “Rubina, you bribed my employees with money and killed five innocent dogs to ruin my reputation in the industry, didn’t you?”
“What nonsense are you spouting? Get out of here, now!
“Who would’ve thought you still can’t shake off your despicable nature after living half your life?” Janelle glared at Rubina with hatred and continued, “If you want to mess with me, at least do it in a fair and square manner! As the chairman of a publicly listed company, how shameless do you have to be to stoop so low as to harm innocent dogs out of personal grudge
Faced with Janelle’s accusations, Rubina initially wanted to rebuke her. However, after a brief pause, she retorted with a cold laugh. “Where’s your proof?”
At this point, Rubina decided not to defend herself further. “You bich, weren’t you quite arrogant last time? Weren’t you the one who didn’t fear consequences? This is nothing more than a minor lesson for you! Know that I’ve lived through more than you have! If you continue to provoke me and cross my boundaries, I won’t hesitate to put you behind bars next time!”
“Especially that d’mn dog of yours, Rubina continued with an even more venomous tone, “If you can’t keep it under control and i run into the same situation as last time, I swear I’ll have someone chop it up and turn it into dog meat.”
The spark of anger in Janelle was instantly ignited. Without a second thought, she roughly seized Rubina by her hair!
“Ah!”
Rubina felt a sharp pain in her scalp, causing her to shrick and struggle. She started calling out for help. But at that moment, Janelle’s hatred for Rubina had reached its peak, causing her to tighten her grip even more…

As soon as Amos ascended the stairs, he walked into the scene. He abruptly rushed forward and delivered a powerful kick to Janelle’s waist. The force was so great that it instantly knocked Janelle to the ground!
Before Janelle could even react, Amos had already kicked her several times. “How dare you lay a hand on my mother? I won’t let you off easily today! I’ll teach you a lesson for your arrogance and insolence”
Amos Hayward was Rubina’s and Wallace’s son. He was a troublemaker who loved to brawl Just last week, he had returned from abroad, where he had been living a life of debauchery.

Janelle collapsed to the ground, having been subjected to such a violent assault. She could only perceive a wave of darkness before her eyes and a metallic taste of blood filling her mouth
Upon hearing the commotion, Wallace rushed out of his study to intervene. However, Amos was acting like a madman. In a final, desperate move, he forcefully seized Janelle. With a sudden surge of energy, he hurled her toward the railing!
In a stroke of bad luck, this railing had just been kicked and damaged by Amos a couple of days ago, and there hadn’t been time to repair it yet.
And so, Janelle’s body suddenly crashed into the railing, causing her to lose control and fly out from the second floor!
“Ah!
As Janelle was rapidly plummeting, she instinctively let out a piercing scream of terror…
However, just as she was about to hit the ground, a towering man dashed over and reached out his strong arms to catch her directly:
All that could be heard was a dull thud!
The force of her impact inevitably knocked the man to the ground, and her body landed heavily on his sturdy frame…..
