His tone was icy and unged with a hint of annoyance. After all, this was his office, a solemn place where he dealt with the company’s daily affairs.
The sudden intrusion by a woman with whom he previously had a chaotic and messy relationship with, was nothing short of a grave offense to him.
Janelle, contrary to her usual antagonistic demeanor, circled around to face him. With a smirk that was not quite a smile, she gazed down at him and purred, “It’s been half a month since we last met. I’ve missed you, so I came to see you.”
She lifted herself up and perched on his desk, exuding a carefree, familiar demeanor. She acted as if she belonged there.
Confronted with her alluring and provocative attire, and her intoxicating scent that immediately enveloped him, his face remained utterly impassive, betraying no emotion whatsoever.
He simply responded in a hoarse voice, asking. “Did I not tell you to completely disappear from my life?”
She chuckled, “You did save my life at the Hayward residence back then. Wouldn’t it be terribly ungrateful of me if I just vanished?”
As she spoke, she shifted her position so she was directly in front of him. She kicked off her high heels, and brazenly draped her long legs, clad in seductive black stockings, over his thighs.
“Mr. Quiller, to be honest, if it weren’t for you rescuing me the last time. I might have ended up paralyzed, if not dead. So, don’t you think I owe you a major “thank you?”
His face was shrouded in darkness as he forcefully moved her legs aside. “Don’t bring up that mess again. If it had happened anywhere else, it would have had nothing to do with me, but if it happens at the Hayward residence and affects my marriage, there’s no way in hell that I’ll be standing by idly”
After he finished speaking, he abruptly rose from the leather chair and directed a harsh command at her, “Leave Now”
Subsequently, he walked toward the floor–to–ceiling window for some fresh air.
Janelle remain perched on his office desk. Her eyes greedily drinking in his figure. Despite his restraint, his broad shoulders. and tall stature were brimming with a certain raw magnetism
“Where exactly do you want me to go?” she whispered playfully into his ear, “Are you heading off to Zachary’s place! Oh, by the way, he invited me for a swim again today. Should we go?*
“Shut up!”
At the moment he heard that name, he was instantly infuriated. He turned to glare at her. “Don’t use him to test my limits, or I’ll make you pay!”
“Why are you being so harsh with me?” She wrapped her arms around his neck in a playful, submissive manner. “How about this, let’s play a little game. If I lose, I’ll leave.”
His icy eyes stared at her silently.
He was bewildered by her suggestion. He remained unmoved even when she draped herself around intimately around his
neck
Janelle laughed playfully. “The game is simple. I have to guess which brand of underwear you’re wearing today. If I guess right, I win. If I’m wrong, I lose.”
His gaze darkened. He was unable to bear it any longer. He pushed her away roughly.
“Let me guess.. Hmm… Are you wearing Armani?” Despite his evident irritation, Janelle wrapped her arms around his neck
