Chapter 8
I was feeling mentally exhausted as I
explained to the counselor, “It really wasn’t my fault…”
“One hand can’t clap on its own. If you didn’t provoke her, why would she come looking for trouble?”
I was so stunned that I couldn’t think straight. “What do you mean by ‘one hand can’t clap on its own‘? She took my seat and even hit me first!”
The counselor’s voice came through the phone, “The most important thing right now is to solve the problem. You’re young, it’s okay to take a little loss…”
What kind of logic was that? I hung up the phone immediately.
By the time my parents got home,
news
about our family business had already
exploded online. The exposed news
instantly exploded across the internet.

Chapter 8
A while back, the company had some issues with our product supply and had to recall a batch. My parents had been busy handling that matter. Who would have thought that someone would dig it all up?
Our orders started getting canceled and people began boycotting us. A massive batch of products was piling up in the warehouse. Everyone was demanding an explanation from my family.
My father was fuming, his breaths coming out in heavy puffs. “What do they mean by calling us capitalists? It was Finn who supplied us with faulty goods! The entire batch failed quality checks! I told him so many times not to cut corners, but he wouldn’t listen. We lost so much money. because of him. How can I keep working with him?”
My parents were running around the country trying to secure new orders, completely worn out from all the stress. Meanwhile, Finn’s family was busy

accepting interviews, crying in front of everyone about how I supposedly beat his mother and even claiming that I ruined their livelihood.
They rode the wave of sympathy to the top, raking in countless orders, buying huge villas and showing off their luxury cars on social media daily.
I clenched my teeth and started a live stream that night. As soon as I went live, my stream was flooded with viewers. hurling insults at me. I ignored the barrage of comments telling me to go die and spoke slowly, “The old lady took my seat on the train and hit me, causing a concussion. As for the supply orders? Oh, their family cut corners and the recalled batch used their products, which didn’t meet quality standards. You can order from them if you want.”
After I finished, the comments froze for a moment before filling with question
marks.

“Wait a minute, is this a plot twist?”
“Damn it, I got used as a pawn again?”
I continued, “I’ve posted all the evidence, including the video of me being hit on the train, the written record after I reported it and the quality inspection results from a certified agency. I don’t understand much about the company’s operations, but my dad always said he’d rather take a loss than compromise on the quality of our products.”
After saying this, I stopped paying attention to everyone’s reactions and ended
the stream.
My parents returned home looking exhausted. The phone rang and when we answered, it was Finn. He shouted, “Are you trying to ruin me? Damn it! I worked so hard to get those orders and your family’s few words ruined everything! Do you know how much money I’m going to lose?”
My father said in a deep voice, “You were

the ones who started this.”
He had been gloating when I was nearly expelled from school because of online harassment. When our company was boycotted, he tried to step on us to climb higher.
I shook my head and sent a thank–you message to someone in a chat. It was to the woman who first stood up for me on the train. She was the one who sent me the video from that day.
“Damn it, I got used as a pawn again! This family is so shameless!”
“I’m so angry. If I were on that train, I don’t know if I could’ve held back.”
“This isn’t about old people turning bad; it’s about bad people getting old! This family is terrifying, using sympathy to deceive so many people!”
