As the ambulance was taking away Waverly and Samuel, Waverly suddenly struggled to free herself. She grabbed Casimir’s hand, crying and pleading, “Casimir, will you accompany me to the hospital? My leg is really hurting. Please, stay with me I’m begging you, don’t leave me. I truly love you.”
Casimir wanted to break free from her grip, but she held onto him tightly.
With a stern expression, he said, “Waverly, let me go. Time is running out. I need to catch my flight. I can’t afford any delays.”
Waverly cried her heart out, the sound tearing through the silence. “Raylee can go alone. Why must you tag along? Are you only concerned about her well being, and not mine? You accuse my parents of playing favorites, but aren’t you guilty of the same! We’ve been engaged for over four years now, and yet your attitude toward me has always been so indifferent. Do you truly consider me as your fiancée? If you didn’t like me, why did you agree to marry me? You gave me hope only to plunge me into despair. You’re truly cruel!”
While pouring out her grievances, Waverly adamantly refused to let Casimir leave.
Raylee watched the scene unfold, a flicker of impulse flashing through her heart. She, too, wanted to emulate Waverly to drag Casimir away with her.
How could she not feel the impulse?
After all, he was the man she had loved deeply throughout her youth
No matter how much she resented him, part of him lived on in her heart, an indelible presence that would linger for her entire life.
Ultimately, she still dismissed this impractical thought with reason.
“I’m going to board the plane now,” Raylee said nonchalantly before she turned around and left.
“Wait for me. I’ll catch up soon.” Casimir’s promise echoed behind her.
Kaylee didn’t respond. Instead, she decisively left.
Shanice wasn’t the only person to accompany Raylee to the security check. Alaric was also present.
“Mr. Goodridge, why are you following us instead of staying at the hospital with your precious daughter?” Shanice asked with
a sarcastic tone.
Alaric wore a solemn expression. He hesitated for a moment before finally uttering, “Ray–Ray, may I have a word with you in

Glancing at the time, Kaylee declined, “There’s not enough time. Let’s do it next time.”
“It’s just a few words, Ray–Ray, and it won’t take long. After this farewell, I don’t know if we’ll ever meet again. I..” Old Alaric sighed deeply
At that moment, he resembled a doing father, struggling to let go as his daughter set off on a long journey.
This serne wasn’t the first time it had happened.
Years ago, Kaylee had gone to a summer camp abroad. Alaric had escorted her to the station, watching as she disappeared
into the distance.
She still vividly remembered the longing look in his eyes.

Shanice was observing the melancholic expression on Alaric’s countenance at that moment. Far from being moved, she responded even more sarcastically, “So, you’re actually worried about Ray–Ray? I thought your whole family can’t wait for her to be out of the picture.”
“Shanice, I don’t think like that,” Alaric sternly admonished, his face rigid. “Don’t accuse me of such malice. It wouldn’t be good if Kay–Ray misunderstands”
“Is there still a misunderstanding? Isn’t it obvious?” Shanice wanted to continue speaking but was interrupted by Raylee.
Kaylee said to Alaric. “I’ll give you two minutes, then I have to board my flight.”
“Okay.” Alaric immediately displayed a look of joy.
The two of them stood next to the window, in a slightly quieter location.
“Ray–Ray, the journey to Musmeynia is fraught with danger. I don’t know if I’ll be able to see you again once you leave. So. you must take good care of yourself.”
“No need for nonsense.” Raylee frowned.
“I’m genuinely worried about you.” Alaric sighed heavily. “I know we’ve deeply hurt you in the past four years, but it can’t erase the eighteen years of our father–daughter bond.”
“You’re also aware that there’s a good chance I won’t make it out alive if I go, and yet, you still let me. You’re watching me march toward death yet you claim you’re worried about me? Don’t you think your hypocrisy is revolting?” Raylee couldn’t help but lose her temper.
The expression on Alaric’s face turned solemn. A flicker of guilt flashed in his eyes, but it disappeared just as quickly.
He held a paternal affection for Rayler, albeit limited.
After a moment, he finally spoke with a heavy tone. “I know I’ve wronged you. The five percent of shares is my way of making it up to you. Even Waverly doesn’t have these shares. They’re only for you.”
“Ha! The prerequisite is that I return alive to claim the shares. This is something you can easily dismiss, yet I’m expected to risk my life for it,” Raylee retorted, glaring at Alaric mockingly.
