The following day, which was a weekend morning,
Raylee was in a drowsy slumber when she received a call from the jewelry store.
“Is this Ms. Raylee? Your wedding ring with Mr. Foucault has been re–engraved with your names. When would you be free to come and pick it up?”
“Mr. Foucault?” Raylee was taken aback,
Is that the masked man’s family name? It’s kind of funny when you think about it. We have been living together for five months, and yet, I didn’t even know his name! I tried asking him about it several times, but he always avoided my questions. So, his family name is Foucault. It’s not like it’s an unpleasant name to hear. Why couldn’t he just tell me?
“Yes, your fiancé, Mr. Foucault. When would it be convenient for you to come over, Ms. Somers?”
“I’ll be there shortly.”
The thought of finally learning the masked man’s name had Raylee so excited that she immediately got out of bed.
Following the instructions provided by GPS, she arrived at a jewelry store located within the most upscale shopping mall in the city center.
The stores within this mall were all high–end international luxury brands. Those who could afford to shop here were undoubtedly rich or powerful individuals.
This perfectly matched the masked man’s image of being extravagantly wealthy.
Upon her arrival at the jewelry store, Raylee was immediately ushered into the VIP room by the store manager, where she enjoyed personalized service.
The store manager presented the newly refurbished diamond ring and explained, “Ms. Somers, the pink diamonds on these two rings were carved from a top–tier, rare, and exquisite gem known as the Star of Tears. Its auction price in the market exceeds two hundred million. Upon Mr. Foucault’s instructions yesterday to engrave a name, our staff worked through the night to send the diamond ring abroad. It was reimagined by a renowned jeweler and flown in just this morning. Are you satisfied with it?”
Raylee found herself utterly mesmerized once again as she gazed at the two diamond rings, so perfect they could be considered works of art.
Not only was it valuable, but its aesthetic appeal was truly high as well.
Suddenly, the name “Star of Tears” triggered a memory in her.
When she was freshly released from prison, Vera’s charity foundation held an auction, which she attended on Vera’s behalf.
At the auction, a rare pink diamond was also put up for sale, and it was also named Star of Tears.
In the end, it was Jeremiah who acquired it with two hundred million after making a no–limit bid.
After the auction ended, Jeremiah had given her the pink diamond.
When he passed away, she returned it to the Lorimer family along with the betrothal gift.
Could this pink diamond be the one that Jeremiah once bid on?
With that in mind, Raylee stood up and excitedly asked the store manager, “Is it true that Mr. Foucault won the pink diamond at the auction?”
“Uh…” The store manager appeared perplexed. “These two diamond rings were custom–made by Mr. Foucault. I’m not entirely sure about the origin of the raw materials used! If you need it, I can make a call to the manufacturer for some inquiries.”
Raylee’s emotions still couldn’t settle down. “Go find out! I was there too when Star of Tears was up for auction. In the end, it

“Why can’t I find any information on the buyer?” Raylee asked persistently.
“Because the buyer’s information is confidential, Ms. Somers. If you’re curious, you could personally ask Mr. Foucault. There’s a possibility that Mr. Foucault bought it from that gentleman you mentioned.”
“I’d consider myself fortunate if I could ever get an answer from him,” Raylee said with a bitter smile.
I don’t get it! Jeremiah is already dead, yet I’d somehow see traces of him in my day–to–day life with the masked man. Am I just overly anxious? But how would that explain the Star of Tears?
Raylee was spellbound by the sight of the two diamond rings.
“Would you like to try on the diamond ring, Ms. Somers? Earlier today, Mr. Foucault called us from East Aploth, urging us to hurry up and finish engraving the name so you could collect it. Mr. Foucault really cares about you, Ms. Somers. Your relationship is truly admirable!” The store manager’s voice was laced with admiration.
“What? He called from East Aploth? That’s where he went?” The calm that had just settled over Raylee was once again disrupted by excitement.
How could he possibly go to such a dangerous place? That’s not the main point here, though!
The store manager gave a nod, feeling somewhat baffled upon seeing how surprised Raylee was.
Do people from high society always have such unstable emotions?
Raylee sat down, utterly at a loss.

Jeremiah once lured her to East Aploth, where she had nearly met her end.
