“Am I wrong, though? My friends sent me a video of Mr. Foucault saving her. Raylee snuggled into Mr. Foucault’s embrace, embodying the innocence and yearning of a young girl in love. Mr. Foucault didn’t reject her advances either! I knows these things from experience. Just by looking at Mr. Foucault’s demeanor, it’s clear as day that he’s smitten. My intuition is never wrong,” Margaret retorted.
“So what?” Casimir vented, unable to contain his frustration.
Did Mom call me just to get on my nerves or something? Raylee had just angered me, and now my own mother is doing
the same!
Margaret reminded him by saying, “I want you to stay alert. Even though you’re the CEO of Sutherland Group, the old geezers from the board of directors have always been watching you like a hawk. If you can establish a good relationship with Mr. Foucault, successfully expand Sutherland Group’s business into Central Epea, and make notable achievements, then your position would be a lot more secure.”
Naturally, Casimir understood the benefits of collaborating with Sebastian.
He was also pondering, figuring out how to cater to Sebastian’s preferences in order to establish a relationship with him.
Margaret then gave him an idea as she said, “If Raylee could step up her game and win Mr. Foucault over, you could use her as a connection to smoothly establish a relationship with Mr. Foucault. Didn’t Raylee fancy you? I’m sure she’d help you out. If she can help you, then you can consider keeping her as your mistress in the future. As for Waverly, I will cover for you.”
“She doesn’t like me anymore…” Casimir said with a sigh.
I had hurt her so deeply five months ago, so how could she possibly still love me, let alone help me?
In the manner of someone who had been there before, Margaret advised him, “That’s bullsh*t! You were her first love and her childhood sweetheart, so how could she possibly stop loving you? She’s only rejecting you now because she’s upset that you got engaged to Waverly. She can only draw you in by playing hard to get. I’ve seen plenty of women like her. She’s just reeling you in, playing the long game to catch a big fish!”
Suddenly, it all clicked for Casimir.
He truly hadn’t expected that women could be such complex creatures. Mom sure is remarkable for having such profound understanding of Raylee!
After giving it considerable thought, he found himself agreeing with Margaret even more.
I suppose it wouldn’t necessarily be a bad thing if Raylee ended up with Mr. Foucault. If she could truly assist me in my career, then I’ll surely repay her once I have established a firm position in Sutherland Group! It doesn’t matter if I have to keep her as my mistress, or offer her money or shares! Everything is negotiable. I wouldn’t even mind that she once had a thing with Mr. Foucault!
Raylee felt incredibly frustrated as she sat on the couch watching the masked man being deeply engrossed in conversation with Layla.

She promptly picked up a glass of wine, downing it in one gulp.
She had thought that drowning her sorrows in alcohol would help, but after finishing her drink, a wave of nausea hit her and her head felt dizzy.
She then made a trip to the restroom.
Before she could even reach the restroom, however, her legs suddenly gave way and she fell to the ground.
Her consciousness gradually faded, and her vision became increasingly blurred.

Biting her tongue, Raylee clung onto the last shred of consciousness she had left and forced herself to lean against the wall.
There’s definitely something off about that drink! Who tried to give me a spiked drink? There must be some unspeakable scheme at play here…
No sooner had the negative thoughts begun to rise than two individuals, clad in waiter uniforms, approached her.
“Ma’am, you’ve had too much to drink. Let us help you to your room so you can get some rest.”
Raylee was then escorted away with one person on each side.
She desperately wanted to call for help, but it felt as if her throat was blocked, leaving her unable to make a sound.
She despised herself for being unable to save herself.
Meanwhile, when Halston emerged from the restroom, he happened to catch sight of Raylee being led away, her figure disappearing around the corridor’s bend.
